I learned the hard way at a young age not to mess with the cat...we had a very temperamental calico cat named Tonna. There's a photo of me at 3 years old with two fang marks on my cheek from where she bit me, lol. I don't remember it but I'm sure I deserved it. Kids (toddlers) have to be watched around most cats, since most cats don't do too well with being pestered. Once that tail starts wagging, they aren't happy like the dog might be.

I need to vent....sorry. We were at the pet store a few weeks back and they were having an adoption. There was a 10 year old cat who had been shot in the face with a BB gun. He’s mostly fine now (little cowlick from where his hair isn’t growing back properly - which is pretty cute actually, kind of a semi-lazy eye - which will probably improve with time) but they need to place him in a home. We offered to take him and pay the adoption fees so he could live out his senior years being spoiled and hanging out with our other cats (no we do not need another cat, but seniors are notoriously difficult to place). We filled out the paperwork and the ladies there said we were perfect for the cat. We then received notice on Saturday that he needed a more stress free environment - our cats haven’t a clue what stress means! Really, being carted back and forth to the pet store, being stuck in a cage all day is not stressful?? My wife told her that she respected her opinion but thought she was doing a disservice to the poor little guy. I wasn’t going to be as nice.

When we were there I saw at least two people go up to his cage and when they were told “he is 10 years old” they immediately walked away. I feel awful he is stuck in limbo with no permanent home.

    Rant over...thanks for listening.

I wouldn't give up. It sounds like you'd be great for the little guy. He deserves to feel love. Keep trying. May they'll come around if you show how serious you are. :fingerscrossed:

We had a cat that has asthma. We gave him prednisone. A liquid medication orally whenever he started to weez. We didn't overdue the meds as there are some side affects. We'd oy give it to him as needed. One side affect is that it made him hungry all the time. There was another one which we had him testef for every year or two, but I can't remember what it was. It helped him a lot and he was a happy loving guy.

Keep going back. Invite them to your house, they’ll eventually give in.

I was waiting for that too. Bob kitty’s are notorious for spraying everything in sight.

We had one that visited regularly.
Four cats, I herded them indoors every night. Early one morning, Husband tells yo to me in bed, “why is Elliot outsi....?” I look out the window and wonder myself. In that same instant, Elliot hops into the dresser to see what I’m looking out at.

Loved watching this cat, he was an awesome gopher-getter.

we have one that comes around our place, I have one pic on game cam and I actually saw him once! They are skiddish! I was looking out my living room window and saw it come up the trail and it must have saw me move because it turned and took off. All I saw was the shadow of its furry head. Looked like a bobcat outline...

This one hung out around our house. It would walk across the deck, look in the windows right at me. (Scared the bejeezus outta me the first time, I was on the sofa, maybe 5 feet away?)
