Quick question while I wait for mine to come in. I apologize in advance if this has already been asked. Do these illuminate if you manually turn on your light switch on the overhead console. I know they turn on when your approach with fob and open the doors. Thanks!

I'm tied into the same circuit with his V1's and with the doors closed and I use the map lights the puddles do Not come on.

 

Ok, to verify, that's with doors closed and manually flipping the switch to turn on both dome and maps?

Sorry, I answered this based off an assumption. I have read in several previous posts that the puddle lights are tied in to the dome circuit, so I assumed they will turn on if you manually turn on the dome. I have not yet installed the puddle lights so I do not know for sure.

 

I've been flowing the post since Jan, I do not think it will if you manually turn on the dome. Has to deal more with the door open / closing features.

No problem, I was asked a long time ago and never thought about it so went out and checked myself.

 

This is correct. The puddles will NOT turn on matter the position of the dome/map or overhead switch.
Only activated on lock/unlock or when you walk up close(proximity)

 

Lights came in, wife wants a new couch now...sigh...

Just for confirmation; if the dome is set to the off position, the puddle lights will still activate with lock, unlock, and proximity?

Correct. The puddles Tie into the dome circuit in the A pillar. Which is BETWEEN the ECU And the overhead console. So they will function all the time no matter what position the overhead switch is at.
Some people tap off the cargo lights, but I wanted these to fade on/off and activate with proximity, which the dome circuit is the only wire that will do this.
