Probably really late here but if the 4 cylinder fuel tanks are the same exact size as the 6 cylinder 4x4 versions and the light triggers at the exact same time than by the time the light turns on he will have approximately 4 gallons left in the tank. That is enough to take him about 60 miles on a 6 cylinder give or take a few MPGs... on a 4? 80 or so... his light is not on yet so he may be able to get 100 miles out of what's left in there.

Of course it is all speculation really. Commenting for later reading material. :D

In the six years I’ve had the truck. This is probably the only time it has been lower than 1/8 tank. It’s definitely the first time the low fuel light has come on. I was surprised it even had a light.

I actually prefer IMI when using M193 or M855. I do have a couple of Lake City Green Tips though. It’s “keeping” Ammo though. The Wolf Gold is for shooting. Lol

I never liked this whole liters per 100kms thing.
When gas price is dosplayed and sold by the gallon. You know you get 20mpg. You know the distance that you can go on the advertised quantity of fuel.
You advertise gas by the litre. You have to know how many liters you will need to go that known distance of 100km to know your fuel economy. Youu don't pull into. a gas station and buy 100 kms of fuel. You buy it by the litre.
If anything vehicle mileage should be shown as distance per litre of fuel bought, or consumed.
You buy it by the litres. Them tell people how far their vehicle can go with that quantity of fuel purchased.

Exactly!!! I've never understood why anyone wants to know liter's per 100 km hahaha. Makes no sense to me and requires an extra calculation to get your actual fuel economy lol.

I've never been a believer in this. I had a truck I ran on empty every tank full ,all the time for over 100,000 miles and 12 years. I bought it brand new and never once needed a fuel pump.If the fuel is going thrue the pump it's still getting cooled.

Yeah my mother in law literally stops one or twice a day to get $5 of fuel at a time. No freaking clue why but whatever. Her fuel light is pretty much on all the time. I’ve known her for 7 years now and shes never needed a fuel pump. 2007 Tahoe LTZ.

Any downfall/risk to having a can stored in the back with a tonnaeu cover over it? I've thought about doing this as a just in case thing and then swapping out the fuel like once a month to keep fresh fuel in there but I didnt know if the heat would hurt it. Yeah i know, amateur question lol

Except it's not the gas station telling me what my mileage is and I don't buy gas by the gallon or the litre, I buy it by the tank so personally all I need to know is how many miles or kms I can get out of a tank. Neither Toyota or Esso or the ERB going to tell me that in real life figures.
What gets me is people talking about fuel economy in terms of what it costs to fill the tank, like you know different vehicles have different size tanks and gas prices can vary right?

USA should have switched to metric decades ago. You wouldn't believe the billions lost in global industry and trade, due to conversion losses. And we are the losers.
But despite being losers, we are so very arrogant and the switch never happened.

How are they loosing billions of dollars in trade? It's a product being sold for 'x' amount. I bet more is lost by employees looking at porn at work or just being lazy, than by any conversion loss.
One great thing about the metric program is that the government will make a fortune in gas taxes. That's what happened immediately after Canada converted over. Gas taxes kept going up every year. I mean, a $1.50 a litre doesn't sound that bad, but when everyone sees $5.67 on the sign everywhere in the country. Not just a greedy few. Then, make it $6.25 for Super. Almost half of the gas price in Canada is tax. There's even taxation on tax, and it doesn't go to roads. It goes into general coffers.

Anyway...l learned the Imperial system and them when we switched over, l learned the metric system. I can use either and don't really care much.
