The tundra is growing on me. I wish it was a OR premium with the 5.7. Id have a hard time giving it back

Watch that video then you should be able to measure your angles and figure out what you need.

My dad's cousin has a 5.7 Tundra OR prem lol & it rides like a Maybach comparing to the taco. Love everything about it but just too much truck to get around town.

Thanks, i'll check that out. I was under the impression that proper angles can vary slightly from one truck to the next so i figured it might be a bit of a guessing game since I didn't take before measurements.

Are you getting any driveline vibes? Most people don't need shims for an AAL. It's not until you go to a full leaf pack that you do.

I have a slight takeoff vibe at like 5-10mph. It's not terrible but definitely noticeable

For that I'd recommend trying carrier bearing shims first. Just go stack some washers in between the carrier bearing and the frame. About 1/4" worth.

Yeah maybe i'll give that a shot before I spend money on the shims

Much much easier too. You can have the CB spaced down in 3-4 minutes.

Nice, thanks Randy. It really isn't that bad of a vibe either, I might just live with it if that doesn't work. Plus i'll probably go to dakars at some point in the future, I dont know if i feel like spending the money on axle shims if theres a chance that i'll need to get shimmyer ones in the future

Just to chime in, I'm running 3 degree shims but I have a full HD Dakar pack installed. I had the driveline vibes, used the shims and some washers on the carrier bearing bracket. It was kind of a process of elimination trying to figure out how many washers to use. I also used an angleometer to gauge how many degrees I was off.

Reading about all these shims makes me glad I got away with just the carrier bearing deal. I don't think I'd want to screw with all that shimmy stuff.

It seems that a flatbed is a factory option in Europe. Most of the trucks here have. Have not really seen any modern style Toyota’s in Portugal. Saw one but it flashed past pretty quick. Saw the Toyota badge but the lines were all wrong. Looked more like the current generation Ford Ranger.

Might have been a HiLux that you saw? Those kind of look a little like the "new" ranger...
