Sorry for being vague . Yes the red piece is the tailgate lock. I know there is a locking handle. I wanted to ensure no tailgate theft.

The bed liner is aftermarket, Weathertech.

It's the sabelco lock for the hinge.

    SaBellCo is the mfg.
I have read other threads about using hose clamps and other manufacturer's that make tailgate locks. This lock does cost more $79.95 In my opinion it's worth the cost and easy to install to provide extra security.

I have read some install instructions on the lock that seemed a little confusing on breaking off a tab. Can you give a quick run thru on the install.

With needle nose plier I carefully gripped the plastic clip, wiggled it back and forth while pulling. The clip came out. Be careful not to bend too much due to it being plastic. It will come out though. I hope this helps.

It's actually very easy, I loosened the tailgate cover and installed it. You have to loosen or remove the tailgate cover because the lock sits under the corner of the cover. I don't know about the breaking tab thing as I didn't have to do that but but I suspect is just a clip for the wiring inside the tailgate. about 10 mins to install.

Other threads have mentioned that it should work and cost less. I contemplated and read reviews of posts to make my final decision.

It will but that'll just slow them down, this is an actual lock.

Don't break the clip. I am storing it away. It will come out. The rest of the install instructions on the mfg website is easy. The clip portion was a little vague, but I figured it out.

A thief can snap off a hose clamp in less than 10 seconds with a screwdriver, try it! You may find your snapped hose clamp on the ground behind your sad tailgateless truck if you rely on those
    to secure it.

If you do choose the hose clamp option, at least put a couple washers over the eyes of the cable stays to keep them from being easily slipped off.

    $164.95 via weathertech site.
If you purchase call them and mention that you saw advertisement in Auto Club Westways. If I remember you get %off. Screenshot_20190529-163230_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20190529-163230_Chrome.jpg

I bought a pop n lock tailgate lock, seems to be tougher than a regular hose clamp but nothing is really theft proof.
That bed liner does look nice. Too bad I already own a bed mat.

When I checked popnlock website I could not find the hinge lock just locking tailgate handle. So I ended purchasing Sabellco lock.
