Yeah... What? The thread is called "snugtop issues." So I'm pretty damn sure we're on topic!

If I buy a $3,000+ product (in this case a Snugtop) and it fails in countless ways due to a lack of quality control, should I just keep my mouth shut because you were lucky and didn't have the same problems? I'll go ahead and list the issues with my Sport HiLiner:

-1" overhang on the side of the truck
-Bowing 1" (or slightly more) at the center of the cap over the wheels)
-Leaking from both side windows and heavily through the third brake light
-Trim strip at the bottom of the rear window was almost 3/4" longer on one side
-Wavy fiberglass along the sides of the cap
    -Paint chipping off
-Paint touch ups (looked like a pen)
-Uncured paint peeling off around gaskets (adhesive stuck to the paint, the paint didn't stick to the fiberglass)
-Cap was molded too small, rubbing the paint off 4 corners of my bed.

Then, dealing with Snugtop has been incredibly frustrating. I've now been arguing with them for like, what, seven months trying to get a replacement. Countless emails, phone calls, etc. I had to send the cap back to them leaving me with nothing for 6-8 weeks (still nothing). Haven't even been able to resolve the damage to the paint on my brand new truck...

Oh, and that doesn't even address the warranty being nearly expired by the time I receive a replacement.

So please, tell me again how: 1) I'm not dealing with this 2) How my incompetence caused this 3) How we're not "keeping it real."

Cool that you're happy with your snugtop, but for some of us, it hasn't gone well. Others deserve to know the company isn't easy to deal with and seems to overlook some pretty obvious problems before shipping your expensive truck cap to you. Have you had any warranty issues you've had to address? If not, kindly take a seat over there and put your hand down.

Wow, that's a bummer...hope you get your issues sorted. I was not particularly impressed with our local dealer...seemed knowledgeable about the product, but also quick to deflect my questions regarding fitment issues and such. They also sell Leer, but I think they prefer to push Snugtop. Not sure if Leer is any better?

    Thanks man! Me too!

An unnamed dealer in Utah sells Leer and Snugtop. They tried to talk me out of a Snugtop because of issues they'd been having. I didn't listen and bought elsewhere. The "show us your snugtop" thread is also loaded with complaints about their customer service. You may get a totally awesome topper from them, but you may not. I only went snug for the keyless rear window. If you decide to buy one, before you accept delivery of the product, thoroughly inspect it. Like really, really thoroughly!

I returned the Snugtop Rebel for a full refund with the dealer. They agreed that it was a significant design flaw and clearly an issue w the mold. Already purchased an ARE. They fit a lot better from what I've seen (they had a couple 3rd Gen Tacos in the lot). It was a pretty easy sell :) Hope this saves someone out there a headache.

Wow! Congrats, that's pretty amazing. Evidently your dealer cares about their reputation and made things right. Nice to hear about someone doing business like that. Mine kinda shrugged it off when I pointed the overhang and gap out to them. Like it was normal... Also had some smug comments about the other issues I had. I just hope it's over soon and I end up with a decent looking and water-tight cap.

Zero issues with mine so far. Keeps my gear dry, secure, and out of the direct sun.

Yeah, but look at that huge overhang though. Compared to the Leer 100XQ @Jason TRD OR is rockin, it's just, it's nice I guess... Hard to justify spending more (or the same) on the snug. Not to mention my (and many others') issues with customer service.

Got mine used for $1200 so price was not an issue for me. Placed padded rubber tape on the bed rails and it fits great. No leaks even when pressure washing up into the skirt area. It’s all personal preference I guess but mine has been trouble free.

I recently bought a hi-liner with sportsmans package from the dealer in Chicago. I drove 8 hours to get it. Both windoors and the back glass leak. I'm taking it back for service tomorrow. Hopefully they can fix the problems.

Yeah I bought mine from the same dealer, drove 3 hours. The dealer did a great job of the install, Snugtop did so so. All the manufacturers of truck caps leave a lot to be desired, good luck.
