Warm hands in single digits isnt exactly a common occurrence or was it ideal. Id take a stock latch over pins again.

I guess I could do both and not lock them at times that seem like it's a better idea not to. Can the pins be closed without locking on those? Still not coughing up that much for them, at the same time just like to know...

Not sure how to tighten this... it just keeps on spinning and only a normal wrench can fit behind. I’m trying to torque it down
It’s the nut and bolt holding in the diff and the driveshaft image.jpg

You need a wrench on each side if that's a bolt with a nut on the other side. Grind one down if you must?

Wait you mean use a torque wrench? Don't need to - good'n tite works for that bolt - they aren't huge torque numbers.

Red lock tite for peace of mind is what I did. I believe the spec is only around 40 ft-lb or so.

    A thing or two...
Use a crowfoot wrench or torque adapter.

Total Chaos UCA FOX 2.5 ext. remote resi
Hello all. First post as a member here, this looks like a good place for my questions without starting a new thread. I’ve got a 1st gen with mid travel up front. (TC UCA, Fox 2.5 remote) it’s been a dream to have a full LT taco since a teen and I’m now able to actually start. I’ve been planing on (over the next 3-4 months) grabbing a Solo Motorsports LCA, Spindle, and lower uniball conversion for the front, and going the spring under and bed cage route for the rear. HOWEVER, doing something in the likes of a Mint 400 or Baja 500 is on the bucket list, and I’m sort of in a bind on if I should continue my LT build, or start saving for a built truck. Do most of you have LT just to go rip on weekends? I already know I do more than I should with my current set up and it’s so very hard to hold back. I JUST WANNA GO FAST lol. I’ve done hours and hours looking into the different classes and it seems that it is in no way worth it to try to convert my truck, and to buy a used VW RTR, or something of that sort. Especially due to having zero fab experience. This might be the wrong forum, but any knowledge would be appreciated. Please don’t hold back on hitting me with reality!

I'd buy a legit caged truck.

Buy someone else’s project truck and throw money it. Make it into what you want with a good head start. Get something already fully caged, etc.

Where are you located? Best way to get in the race seat from a no experience point of view is to friend a local race team, help them on their race car, go to races with them and learn. Eventually you'll get a ride testing, then in a short race, then longer. By then you'll have experience enough to know what's what and go on your own. Saying you want to race the Mint or Baja with no car or no experience is kinda silly. I've been around the sport 44 of my 49 years on this planet and have yet to race a big race but have thousands of race miles in smaller series and can talk about races with a huge grin on my face.
