    So, I made the leap and bought a truck! But, not just any truck. It’s a 2015, four door, long bed Tacoma. My neighbor wants to buy it from me already. Guess this little old lady is gonna give it a go! I got it to pull a camper but have seen “camper shell” ads that sound interesting. Any advice? I’d be grateful to hear it.

    Heya, Greetings from The Great White North, and welcome to TW!

    Now i feel kinda inadequate with my short box :bowdown:

    I have had tents and shells and campers, now tow a small trailer and have travelled and camped and slept in them all, a lot...all have their place, all have their awesome advantages, and all have their minor drawbacks....it is going to come down to what your needs and wants are. The little trailer is fantastic, it is comfortable and spacious and it has a shower and loo...but then, I'm having to tow a trailer, which would limit my off road travels....and a shell is compact and light and so convenient, it goes everywhere you want to go...but those creature comforts are less plentiful; you may need to go find a tree in the middle of a dark rainy night

    I would have advocated strongly and to the exclusion of all else a tent, then a shell, then a camper, depending on what I was using at the time :D

    Suss out what kind of things ya wanna do and go from there...and keep asking specific questions on TW, lots of good, smart and experienced people here

    Most importantly...enjoy your truck :dancingbacon:
