I am having some problems with my 2017 SR5 Taco. The problem I am having does not happen all the time. I am going to try to explain the problem the best I can. Sometimes well I am driving I notice that the engine/Taco is sputtering/losing compression/not getting enough fuel. I do not know. Most of the times it happens when I reach the speed limit and I bring to let me foot off the gas to maintain speed. It doesn't happen during acceleration. Just at different times. I have tried premium gas and it still happens. Whenever I call my local dealership they always want to check the transmission but it doesn't feel like transmission issues to me. Please help

Had the same issue with my 2017 as well, happened when I would slightly accelerate when I already had some momentum. Shop foreman at Toyota took a test drive with me and said its normal and to switch up gas brands every now and then as it has to do with compression. I got a new 2018 now and have not had those issues anymore.

Once you let off the gas on these things, it upshifts to 5th or 6th gear. Put it in s mode 4 or 4 and it won't do that. The other is to engage the ect pwr button.

Once you get up fo speed toss it up to s5 above 75 throw to s6
The truck has 2 overdrives a d it's trying to conserve gas. If I get up to 40 mph, let off the gas, it will then coast or maintain speed by lightly getting into the gas. Ranges of mpg are 45 to 90. It's the stop and go that kills the milage.
