    Hello,
Are there any dash cams that any of you guys are currently using and that you would recommend? I'm looking to buy one, but I'm not sure as to which one I should buy. Thank you!

Anything BlackVue you can't go wrong. Top quality brand. But me personally, in my 3rd Gen, since it has a built in GoPro mount, I'm using a GoPro Hero 7 Silver as my dashcam.

How does the GoPro work as a dashcam? Is there a dashcam option? Or do you delete the footage manually??

I have a large memory card and can record about 9 hours of footage until I have to manually reformat the card. The camera is plugged in 24/7 to the power unit inside the arm rest. When I turn on my truck, the camera is in sleep mode. All I have to do is press the record button (not the power button) and it record in 13 minute clips consecutively. I have it set to 1080 at 60fps to prevent heat from the 4k mode. When I turn the car off, I hit record to stop.

Seems like work, but it really only hitting a button. If I get in an accident, I can unmount it and use it to take more video or pictures.

That sounds convenient. Which Black Vue would you recommend? Also, if I do get a Black Vue, would I be able to unmount it whenever I please? Or does it always stay mounted? I would just be afraid of my truck getting broken into since I work in a sketchy area.

Heres a solid 2 channel (front camera and rear camera) for just as much as the gopro I have right now....

It's a permanent fix mount so you wont be able to detach it without having to go through the trouble of taping it back to the glass.

I’m using a Spytec A119v2. Good video quality, no frills dash cam.

Ahh I see now. I really like the design of it. I'll either figure out a gopro option so that I may unmount it, or I'll go with the Black Vue option and put in an alarm. Thank you!

I got the cheapest Street Guardian and it's held up great. I just leave it in the truck and Hot or Cold it always works.

If you need something more discreet then I would look into a rear view mirror camera or one that mounts to the mirror.

Thank you! I'll definitely look into a more discrete option cause Im definitely not comfortable leaving it there in the neighborhood I work at.

I like my Rexing V1 camera. Comes with a harness to hardwire it in too. You can get it for $100 on Amazon.

There are a ton of options for Dash Cams out there and you dont necessarily need to spend a ton of coin to get one that works well. It just depends on the features.

I personally run these in my vehicles and have been very happy over the years.

I bought the above camera for $30 around christmas time. I've heard good things about the apeman cameras too:

Especially with how cheap memory cards have gotten, you can throw in a 128gb and never miss a second.

I have this one and it works great. Had it in my 4Runner for about a year now.

while those cards will work, they are known to have issues with dash cams. Sandisk will not honor their warranty if you use them in a dash cam. They have their "high endurance" line of cards that are made for long term recording. Samsung also has their "Pro Endurance" line of cards that just dropped in price. $35 for the 128gb card. Almost double the price but I think its worth it. I have had several sandisk and several transcend cards fail in dash cams. One was in a cam that did not alert me the card was bad, so for a few months I wasn't even recording without knowing. Also why I recommend cams with audio alerts like blackvue and thinkware.

Just bought the same one today tho I drive my rav4 more so this one is going in the Rav and the one from the Rav is going in the taco. Saved my ass a few times so won't have a car without one. Like this idiot claiming there wasn't enough room for me to pass him on the right when he was clearly in the left lane

ARB Bumper, SOS sliders, SOS rear bumper, SOS skid plate. OME Lift. Some other stuff.
GoPro makes a mount for bicycle seat post and handlebars that you can also attach to a rearview, at least on a second Gen it will. I remember my 1st Gen having a different rearview mirror so I'm not so sure if it would work, but you could always return it if not.
