Right. My point is that a year ago he posted 20 inches. Now he's claiming it was only ten, and there were "several" days instead of two days between water logging the engine compartment and the trip.

You know what blows my mind... How extremely angry some 3rd Gen owners get when the other gens poke fun or talk shit. Like relax people, its all fun and games. If you didn't have a truck that had so many issues, you wouldn't get so angry maybe? Its almost like subconsciously, you guys are angry at yourself for the issues youre having and blow up when people say stuff. Its a forum, not a presidential debate. Its okay to laugh and not take everything in life so seriously..

Unwritten rule on TW, you can't complain about the quality of your 3rd gen, Toyota is perfect with no problems ever, dealer will take care of you if you are really nice and get on your knees, etc etc.

Not necessarily in here, mostly in general on the forum. But I saw it fitting to post in here since that guys started an entire website to talk about how much he hates it lol

But back to the main topic of the thread. I personally LOVE the 3rd gen taco. But lets be real, they have problems, more problems then Toyotas usually have. Will they eventually fix them and get them back to the greatness we know? I hope so. But facts are facts, they aren't into quality control like they used to be. And that goes for most companies. Its all about making money as any business does.

So yeah we all poke fun, and yes we all have our preference on which truck we like, but at the end of the day, fan boy or not, some truck issues are just unacceptable. Im not gonna say this guys issues were okay or not because honestly we need more information, but I know if I had an issue that SHOULDNT be happening to my truck that I legitimately don't believe I cause, better believe Im raising hell.

If everyone did this, people would get better treatment from the dealer and corporate, and Toyota would design better vehicles, instead of releasing half-assed designs cobbled together from their spare parts shelves.

Exactly, because the truth is, they DONT WANT vehicles to last for years anymore.. Why would they if they can get you into the dealership to buy another one in 5 years vs 10-15 years. They don't make as much money if you keep a truck or car running forever. They push out trucks so you can buy trucks.

^Worst part is they do a couple minor changes every 3-4 years and pretend the vehicles are all new. Who knows the so-called all new 3rd gen is really 75% a 2nd gen, at least in terms of frame and non engine drivetrain? How many people are trading in every couple years because they manufacturer FINALLY upgraded that crappy head unit, or finally optioned power seats? I'm guilty of it too, in the past.
