Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
I'm sorry if this has been discussed to death somewhere, but I did a site search and checked the stickies and came up short.

Last year, I had new tires put on and changed wheels. The shop that did the work did move the sensors (I can tell from the stems). Unfortunately, I bought the truck used and did not check this particular feature to see if it was working before doing the wheel/tire swap. After the swap, though, I got nuthin'. No readings and no dash light.

I looked around for answers and found most recommended solution was "drive it". Sure enough, some time later I was taking a long-ish drive and the dash light came on. "Eureka!" But no. Now the tire pressure light flashes when I start it up, then goes to solid on for the rest of the drive. Still no pressure readings.

I'm getting tired of seeing that red light, and it sure would be handy if I could see my tire pressures.

What do I need to do to fix this (short of taking it to the dealer)?

Have you tried going back to the tire shop?

Need to check the tpms sensors and make sure they are working and reading the correct pressure. Then try reprogramming. That's what the flashing tire light means.

No, I haven't. I took the Taco to my regular shop for some other work and they farmed out the wheel/tire swap to a tire shop. This would explain why the tire shop didn't check the sensors after installing, they couldn't. They didn't have the truck.

Ah. This I can do. In fact, I know which tire shop did the work and will give them a try. Maybe I can get this done in warranty... maybe.

    Thanks!

As you say, it can't hoit.

I neglected to mention that I did the reset procedure, step-by-step, from the manual. Didn't make any difference. I will drop by the tire shop on my next day off.

    Thanks again.

    Following up...

Bingo. Yesterday, took the truck over to Discount Tire, which did the wheel/tire swap originally. The sensors had never been configured to work with the ECU (the first problem) and there was indeed one bad sensor (the second problem).

Cost me $60 for a new sensor and $20 for labor, plus tax, so $85 total.

After everything was made good, I still got the 3 dashes for pressure readings on the dash. That's where the "you gotta' drive it" part comes in. The tire shop was a fair distance away, so by the time I got home I now had pressure readings. Yay! \o/

    Thanks!
