Are jacks required in sale of a brand new vehicle?

was curious is it legal for vehicles to come from a dealership with jacks?

 

Some cars come with no spare these days

 

No some cars come with no spares(not even a temp. spare) just a inflation kit with a can of fix a flat

 

This boggles my mind.

 

All for gas savings

 

No spare in my 2016 Challenger 392. Just a miniature compressor with built in fix a flat.

 

How many cars do we see anymore with flat tires on the side of the road?

 

And everyone nowadays has some kinda road side assistance either with your ins company or included in the purchase of newer vehicles.

 

So what I don’t understand is, I was not provided a jack,spare,tire repair kit and they want to charge me 100 to rotate tires. This is mind boggling and on top of that, they told me they are charging me because the upped the tire rotation to 12k miles not every 5k. So if I wanted it done now I would have to pay.

 

I see flat tires often enough here in Ontario, I bet they eliminated the spare because most drivers don’t know how to turn a wrench anymore...

 

Who did you buy this truck from??? Was it used?
All trucks should come with a spare under the bed and a Jack under the rear seat, (not sure where in access cab.

 

With the amount of technology available in the vehicles of today, how is it acceptable that the tires can still go flat?

 

I unfortunately seem to average a flat about every 1 1/2 Years, would never want a vehicle without a spare.

 

you would be surprised what is considered "optional" these days

 

So, did your truck not come with a jack?

 

My truck came with a jack, which is useless now. But my wife’s tesla is the vehicle in question. Yes,bought brad new.

 

Saw one this morning on the side of the road, a fullsize lifted dodge, probaley no spare either.

 

They should just make them out of heavy duty space age plastic that last for 1 million miles.


Technology and all.

 

Tesla comes with run-flat tires, that’s why there’s no spare. BMW and Mini are the same, no spares because they have run flats

Also, some Tesla’s come with an “Auto-jack” system that raises the car when a tire needs to be replaced
