I used the assembled OME 885 coils and Bilstein front struts in the kit I bought from headstrongoffroad.
I'm not looking for a work around. I was just curious what the issue might be. I'm having it aligned again on Saturday (steering wheel isn't straight), when it's on the rack, I can have a better look.

Is the mount where the bottom of the spring sits flat with a form fitting rubber piece OR is the metal mount form shaped to the bottom of the spring?

If it's flat, no good, looks like it's a form fit mount, if so, rotate the spring so that the gap clears the sway bar.

I know this is the other side, but only pic I had on hand. Should be able to rotate the spring and mount to be like this to clear the sway bar.

The upper mount (the three bolts) will only let me face the strut in one direction. I can maybe switch left and right struts but that's too much work right now. I'll have a closer look on Saturday. It's not a huge noise and it sounds more like bushings than anything.

    I'll keep you posted.

I put on some king coilovers and icon delta-joint uca’s for 3” of lift . The ride is superb.

It’s a known issue with that setup. I have the exact same springs and shocks and there was no way to work around doing the sway bar relocate. At least none that I found. It’s like a 10 minute job that costs next to nothing. Just do the relocate and move on.

Relocated my trailer plug to the license plate hole. Only took some plastic trimming on the plug and drilling 2 holes.

Beautiful, man! What did you have before? And may I also ask why your zerk for the Delta Joint is red? Is that grease or a cover?

Thank you, I couldn’t be happier with them. I was previously using the stock struts with a leveling kit (garbage).

    Yes, that’s grease.

Idk if my shop added grease to mine. Do you have to loosen anything before pumping grease into them? I already greased the UCA bolt-through’s. I read moly is what Icon uses in the Delta Joints

I have A relocate kit installed. I highly suggest it. But you shouldn't need it just for the sway bar to clear the coil over. If you do something is wrong. When I try new front shocks I take it off until everything is correct.

    Bilstein 5100 - no prob
Iron-man foam cell - no prob
Dobinson's ext travel - no prob
Rancho 9000 - problem, the same exact prob

Issues was the base of the shock was too wide. If whoever assembled the assembly used a flat lower spring mount, it will rub. If they didn't pay attention to orientation, it will rub. But OP''s setup should not rub.

But then again, I tend to over do everything :) if it works for you, good enough I guess :)

(Teneco actually refunded my purchase price and included $125 for my labor for pointing this out to them that Rancho 9000 are not perfect fit for 2nd gen Tacoma's) :)

This is my exact setup. It’s a great combo with those JBA’s, Kings and Gusseted Spindles. Need to do the 4Runner big brake upgrade next... it’s definitely worth it
