I'm going saturday to look at, test drive and possibly buy a 2014 TRD sport. What are some specific things I should be on the lookout for? I had a 2005 before, but don't know if the 2014's have different issues to look out for.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
Nothing I know of. I have a 14 Sport and have done nothing but fluid changes for 115k. I'm even on the original brakes and they're doing fine.

I have 140k on mine...only unexpected repair was a leaking AC line last year.

2014 is a good year, my only complain is the crappy Entune head unit.

Check the frame for rust (yes, even on a 2014)

2014's are great. Like @RicanTacoma said, they have crappy entune units. I had to have mine replaced once under CPO warranty and I'm already having issues with the replacement after just 6 months. But Mechanically, fill er up, change fluids, drive, enjoy. In any order you want.

My entune works great on my 2014. Absolutely zero issues with my truck other than self inflicted offroad. Love my truck and wouldnt want any other year.

    CHEVERLY my service dog! Lol
have a 2014 DCLB and have had no issues. Mine doesn't cool all that great either but I'm getting ready to replace the AC fluids soon. Done a lot of long drives and I wouldn't trade it.

Like others have previously pointed out the Entune units can have issues. Mine would randomly reset but a software update fixed it. Works great now.

Entune is about as sophisticated as this:

    il_794xN.1725544058_bgh8.jpg

Other then the out of date entune, can't go wrong with the 2014.

Recharged the AC in my '12 myself a week ago. Used one of those overpriced cans from the auto parts store cause I didnt have time for a full evac and recharge. Even that made a huge difference

From what I gathered in my research, the AC system has a filter in line near where it enters the cab. Occasionally those get plugged up from what I hear.

Same here. Only issue has been a leaking AC line.

I too own a ‘14 and granted it only has 55k on the odometer, I’ve done nothing but general fluids and tire rotations and absolutely love it..

Although the Entune does suck, if that’s our biggest complaint then we are really doing just fine

i bought a used '14 last year similar miles/price. honestly my biggest beef was that there was no outside temperature gauge that year, apparently toyota couldn't get the computer to play nice with the sensor? so i installed an aftermarket one and fixed that issue. also the stereo system does sound like balls
