Don't want to get too political and i was mostly just joking.. Butttt, to play devils advocate, most of those companies that make up the big indexes and that jazz are all insanely huge. Realistically probably 75% of them couldn't stay that near that big or even afloat if it weren't for market controls. So i can genuinely see a possibility where most of the companies there now could be gone real quick

Did you see the plan? Looks like they'll start at 5% and go up 5 more percent every month until Mexico does something substantial to decrease illegal immigration.
    Caps out at 25%

It’s the 2-year and 10-year inverting that predict a recession, and they have to stay inverted for at least a quarter to make the prediction. They have not inverted yet, about .16 away still.

That’s how I understand it at least.

If you read the article, it says 1-10yr inversion usually means 12-18 months away. What it means this time, when the yield curve is all whacko, is anyone's guess.

I hear all different things, but the 2-10 seems to be the one I hear the most.

It is weird what's going on now. They're all plummeting, so the actual spread isn't changing much. I think the spread actually went up today, because the 2-year dropped more than the 10-year. I don't think this is what traditionally happens when the "signal" is flashing, I think normally the longer bonds will go down alone to signal fear of the future economy.

Good for my mortgage rates that I'll be shopping for in a few months, bad for my portfolio

Any idea on auto loan rates and how that works? I bought my truck in 2016, was thinking about refinancing to see what the bank will offer. My rate is already good, but a few bucks a month would be worth it to me.

Might be looking to buy a house soon too. Is it a good time as far as mortgage rates go?

I don't know a lot about this, but figure fed fund rates being low help lower loan rates (since banks pay less to borrow from each other).
