It's the Weller 12 that I can't find. I have the 107 and the Special Reserve, now if I can just get my hands on the 12, Poor Mans Pappy would be mine! BTW, they changed the bottle designs recently. New versions are the bottom pic.

I FINALLY got a OWA, but I'll probably use it as trade bait. My local shop picked a barrel which should be ready in a couple of months... and they better hold one for me given how much coin I've spent there the last year and a half since I moved here

 

The honey hole I found is running out of 107 as well..an East Indian liquor store that has a lot of Buffalo Trace options but they hike the price around 3 times retail..stagg, RHF, colonel taylor small batch and rye, Weller special reserve and 107, no 12 to be seen.

 

Definitely ask a bunch of times! preference points gotta be worth something right?!

Found a store here that carries some of the harder to find stuff, but the charge more than secondary. I know it's their prerogative, but I won't shop there.

I actually moved that bottle for a buddy of mine. He's going to acquire an Old Forester Birthday Bourbon - HUGE upgrade as far as I'm concerned.

If I'm honest, the OWA 107 and the Weller 12 don't do much for me. They are fine enough, but not much beyond Weller Special Reserve. OWA gets you a little more proof and W12 gets you a more refined transition from palate to finish, but that's about it. Blending them together for Poor Man's Pappy makes them greater than the sum of their parts, but for the foreseeable future - given secondary value - unless I have someone that truly wants to drink it, every W12 I come across is going straight to the trading block for something I like (MUCH) better - especially multiples of some easy-to-find drinkers that don't have any secondary inflation.

 

Bottle would probably get taken soon, but could run it in a game to see. Crazy (to me) markup on that bottle, too.

 

I had been debating it since I usually like my whiskey on the rocks but I will go ahead and take 2 off your hands. Gives me a reason to grab myself by the boys and at least sample all of the my good stuff neat before watering it down. I will just do the W.T.F. logo
