Basically. The draw could easily still be higher than the continuous current rating of the cable, but you're only pulling it for a relatively short time.

The back emf occurs when you stop the motor. It's a reverse voltage spike caused by the collapse of the magnetic field created my the motor windings. Every coil does it. That's why it's good practice to buy relays with a resistor or diode built-in. It keeps you from possibly arc welding your switch terminals together when you turn off the relay.

@buyobuyo I installed my Ballsout mount last night. I know, I'm such a slacker. Thanks for the hookup, homie. :fistbump:

 I've got plenty of mods that I've been slacking on installing, so no judgement here. Also...

Dammit, I knew I'd get called out. Gotta take a few tonight. It was dark when I finished, my ass was getting eaten alive by mosquitos and deer flys, and I was pissed off because interior mods are not my thing. I'm a heavy equipment operator, tenderly taking apart dash parts goes against everything in my nature. I'm less of a "gently wiggle and caress things loose" guy, and more of a "grab things firmly and fucking jerk things loose" kind of guy.

Super happy with the end result though. That ram mount stuff is some tough, sturdy shit.

I've had my dash apart multiple times, and I'm not exactly gentle. Haven't broke anything yet other than a few of those colored clips that go on the tabs, but there are still enough that it all goes together tight.

I thought about it. When you guys get yours on; I'll check 'em out and make a decision then.
I'm interested in seeing the gap. I've been wondering if you can weld it up so its one piece.

At least it’s a fairly even coating of paleness. So that’s something.
