Thats true, and powder coat would be way more durable than a regular paint job too.

My bike is the same color as the cement taco lol. So is my wifes. I think quicksand would be super awesome on a bike! Call me trashy, but this is the color scheme I want lol. In flat. It would match the xx1 lol

    I can’t hate that.

Trek already has a fuel ex in a color that would work for quicksand owners.

my buddy has that bike. Its not much like quicksand. Its like a light grey bone color. Its a sick color, but the quicksand tacoma is more of a flat dark earth color. This santa cruz is a little darker..

Ahh that makes sense. Love that color from Santa Cruz. Honesty I’ve never seen either in person, only on a screen.

The Trek X-Caliber 8 in gravel is almost a dead ringer from Toyota cement.

Nothing better than seeing your bike and gear arrive in a foreign country.
Landed an Vienna, got my rental and drove out to Modling, a small town outside Vienna. My Airbnb want ready, so I pulled out Trailforks and found some local trails. Parked, pulled the bike out, and got to building. The photos below are of the area, the smooth easy climb up and the place I’m staying at.

    Some tips:
    - people at the ticket counter have no freaking idea what to do with bikes. Bring the airline policy with you, I had to show them their policy.
    - place wheels with disks facing in. I thought I did, but found out I didn’t when my front wheel rotor was bent, bad. After a good 30 min pulling and adjusting, it’s good enough.
    - your bike bag WILL be searched. Put shit in there so it’s easy for them to repack.
    - don’t forget any tools you’ll need to rebuild your bike, and make sure you know how to get it back together, and set how you like it easily.
    - get a high volume mini pump. You have to reinflate your tires and it sucks with those itsy-bitsy pumps.
    - put all small parts in small labeled plastic baggies
    - bring reusable shopping bags for your stinky clothes

Casitas are great! I’ve carried them on the shell and it’s a bit of a pain loading and unloading to go to trailheads away from camping, etc. I’ve hauled them inside the shell before I had my giant Germans shepherd puppy and just a small beagle that rides up front and that works too.... but not as well now with dogs in it.

Last fall I bought a Lippert jack-it that mounts to the tongue of the trailer. It works pretty well for the most part, but I ended up bringing my north shore bike rack with on my last trip to Moab so it was easier to move the bikes around. I just threw it in the trailer. What I think I’d ultimately like to do would be buy the Orbital rear hitch and use the north shore rack on there... but my 16ft casita is already pretty tongue light so I’d have to load up the front of the trailer.

This is the rack I have now

Just some followup photos - the back clamp of the Yakima Frontloaders fit, but the front clamp is just missing grabbing proper. So close but so far, debating notching the plastic if possible - unlikely. I will probably need to install a cross bar 2" above and parallel to the existing Kb Voodoo bars.

Got the add a rack for my 1up.

Perfect for a day at the beach with the wifey.

My setup is a bit different. I have the 2" carrier, but with a roof rack carrier on it. Then the add a rack and the license plate holder. Figured it was perfect since if I ever got a car I could put use also use it with a roof rack.

Normally it's just the one rack and my mountain bike.

Anyway, my nearly 60lb fat E-Bike and my wife's around 55lb E-bike fit perfectly and I had no worries about that kind of weight on the rack.

Looking killer man. How many miles were on that fork? Did you do a lowers service when you got it?

Now time to upgrade that shock ;)

Love that thing! Huge fan of GG, especially what they did with the new carbon stuff.
I never understood why bike manufacturers spec exo casings on badass bikes (other than stated weights). I can sometimes get away with exo on the front for a while, but the rears always get destroyed in a few rides. FWIW I started riding the exo+ sidewalls, with Huck Norris inserts on the rear and they’ve been pinch proof with reasonable weights.

I was looking into some workaround to get the tailgate down but I'm too cheap (or stubborn) to fork out another 400 bones on top of an already very pricey bike rack. I think I'll try the Hi-Lo extension Kuat makes first, I only need like an inch more space! Trying to get my dog up and over the bedside without hurting myself, her or my truck is very difficult.

I have to replace my dropper on my squishy and got one, thanks again @dbbowen2, but summer classes started so I haven’t gotten around to installing it. I decided to hit the trails on my hard tail instead of fixing my squishy.
