Yes it is still attached but that was starting to pop off initially. And I pushed it back. Then after driving this happened. I'm worried about shoving the metal "clip" back in and messing something up.

I realize now what needs to be done, but I don't even know how to get that horizontal pin back in there behind that black tab

Condensation. Yes! Is no one else complaining about or experiencing this? My tent is terrible, literally the worst tent I have ever slept in for condensation in 30+ years of sleeping in tents.

I've talked to GFC and they say "that's just how it is" or something like that. The tent is made out of rubber raft material, it doesn't breathe and it doesn't absorb water so the condensation just beads up and hangs out. And yes, I've tried every combo of windows open, cracked etc. No difference.

I asked about the new tent fabric and if it would be an improvement. They said no and that's not why they made the change. My guess is the new tent fabric will be an improvement as it is a more traditional outdoor fabric and will absorb some of the water. It will likely need to be aired out more but it hopefully won't be a jungle in there every time I wake up too...

Maybe the roof vent is the way to go.

That's just how it is... That's a BS response. It's so terrible. I wake up with a cover wet because itsi dripping. And I agree, I think that other material would help. In my opinion it's absolutely unacceptable the amount. And for living out of, it's getting old.

Sprinter guys do it all the time, it can't be that hard.

If GFC doesn't want to address the issue, that's the route we are going to have to go.

I'm about to be in Oregon on my trip. If someone has the drilling skills and knows what needs to be done, I'll be the tester. I don't give AF cutting a hole in this thing. So let me know and I will roll this soggy mess to your place and I will report back to everyone if it's a disaster :)

Do you leave any of the side windows a little more than cracked open at all? Waterproof siding material by nature does not breath like a normal tent or even the majority of the RTTs on the market. If it’s colder outside than inside, and person(s) are breathing inside, condensation happens if there is no venting or fresh air source/drain.

As I mentioned above, I’ve tried every combination of side windows and front door open/closed/cracked. Doesn’t make a difference.

Well damn. Well I genuinely hope you guys get a fan/vent option in the future. I leave my vent about 20% open on cold nights and it mitigates the vast majority of the condensation issues. Turn the fan on in the morning and it whisks away what condensation is left in about 5 minutes.

Do you run a heater as well inside?

I just got the new tent material. It's more supple and breaths better. A very nice upgrade. I spent a night in a heavy rainstorm with wind and IMO the amount of condensation was acceptable. The whole tent was tight and didn't leak. The new tent includes a flap at the bottom of the rear window that eliminated the leaks that occurred with rain running down the back. The new material looks and feels like Sunbrella which is commonly used for dodgers, awnings and sail covers in yacht industry.

How did you manage to get the new tent? I was going to try to get the new material as well. I'd be willing to pay if necessary.

New tent is going to cost you $750. Just asked mike at GFC. He said my camper is coming back from repairs late next week.

@trouttaco Thanks for the info. I wish GFC was faster in replying. I'm ready to drop money on the tent, accessories, and new aluminum tubes once they respond to me. I thought the hurry up and wait was over after picking up my camper.

I almost bought one of these second hand, but after all the above I am happy my $6k is still in my pocket.

They sure look like great setups though.

Didn't use the bungee cord in the wind. Flapping wasn't a problem in a rain/windstorm although I might have been too sleepy to notice.
