Oh man you are a Civi, Lol k let me go get my Crayons... just cause you guys make water flow uphill does not mean you can walk on it... hehehe (from a Mechi talking) my brother in law and nephew are Civi's so I like to give you guys a hard time. ;)

If you look at the ends of some of the sliders out there the just run along the side and on some parts of the bottom of the frame. At the back where the kickout and highest part of mechanical advantage you have a plate against the vertical part of the frame with maybe one bolt in the center. That plate is put under a torsional load when force is put on the kickout.

So if you took one of those RCI and similar designs and "cupped" the bottom of the frame, the plate is no longer taking that load. The frame is. the C channel method would be welding the red channel on the LH side to the slider plate and then on the inside lip of the frame clamping it (even without the beam clamps you will be increasing the strength pushing up but not when you are pushing down on the sliders).

As you know, flat plate is the worst for deflection under torsional load.

Have a look at this bad Paint sketch and it might explain it better.

    frame-wrap_e2032d8b784712c896a83db9d0bf4c11d7dd7e6d.gif

When you push up on the lever the bottom of the backplate wants to go left and pulls away from the frame drilling extra bolt holes is an option, or welding back there too but.... just need to have the back plate transfer the force to the frame without deflecting... Lot easier than beam loading calculations so you can put the slide rule away! ;)

Hey turn around, we're supposed to be talking behind your back!
If you knew people in other countries were saying you guys had the best sliders with the best engineering your American heads won't fit in the company 4Runner!!! :)

Now set our Bro here up with a deal to stop him from looking at inferior products and get him some sliders that will survive a town that has Potholes that will make you apologize to your truck, and a necessity on a trip to buy overpriced beer. He'll even send hairy tit pics for a discount!

Oh yea. Wouldn’t want that. Joe A’s head already sticks out of the sunroof.

The tit pics are a very enticing trade.

I have a setup to produce 64 6" clone tomato plants per month. Shipping live plants would have to be an overnight ship.

Well if you guys want, throw a set of sliders in the back of the 4Runner and bring them up here and enjoy the Steeltown off-roading experience that will thoroughly test the long travel suspension. Mount a GoPro and call it the Canadian Moab experiance,
We'll even fill up your truck with Barton st girls! (Just leave the sunroof open when you go through the car wash and they'll clean right up). Then you'll have another marketing video too!! Win-Win Oh we'll even sit you down for some real Canadian beer at the soon to be torn down Hamilton Strip, finest collection of inbreeding and STD's you will ever see, it's known as a Cultural Icon (bacterial that is) something to take home for everyone!

Lol your website is AWOL atm, but I thought I saw on it a while ago that you guys had the Aluminum Fuel tank skids? but there were no pics. was wanting to bug you guys about that and if the other 3rd gen Al skids will work if I have the stock 3rd get Pro IFS skid. Yeah I know the TRD plate is not as strong as the Mobtown one but it is stock and it does look sexy and Moab is too far for me. ;)

Nothing like a night of high culture at the Ballet.

At work one time one of the ladies come over to our cubical and says
"I never thought you guys would be the type to go to places like the ballet... Especially on a Friday night, Which one are you going to see"
I looked over at my buddy and he had paused with a cup of coffee in his mouth and his eyes wide open.
    I replied without even blinking;
    "The Nutcracker"
my friend blew his coffee all over the desk.

Very nice! Did you make tubular support for a kicker like mobtown does too?

holyshit everything you said made sense!

but yeah i see what you mean with it wanting to torque over there and why (after taking a quick look at the others) the mobtown ones are leagues ahead (from a logical point of view)
depending on the load, the new shear stresses of the system wouldn't be near the through holes in the plates but the actual truck frame itself.

Ok so crawled under my truck and i hate you with a passion as i dragged my old steel book out of my shelf for this

    this.jpg

C100x11 channel would technically work instead of welding 2 angles by their feet.

but what i found interesting is that the truck isn't a true C channel. It's got this tiny stub of reinforcement (240mm by 35mm) but it's recessed in a tiny bit, at most a 5mills.
so how does the Mob down connect to it? the plate seems like it's there for reinforcing the bottom half of the member, but you'd need to drill holes to bolt it on the other side no?
EDIT: unless it just hooks on and hangs on for dear life?
    IMG_20190531_210210.jpg

Edit: Fuck it, i'm over thinking this

Burlington st was rated #1 in Canada for the worst road. now #6 with Barton St. E #5.
(Dufferin st. is only at the top because there is constant construction.... Cheaters)
