This the one post I follow most. Great post in the puddle light install and great to see how everyone are helping each other with this mod. It's like one big org* err tailgate party. I am so bummed that I missed out on the 1st batch due to an unexpected surgery at the same time the puddle was dropped. Believe me, I was on my phone refreshing @MESO until they had to knock me out for the surgery.. Haha..

Really envious but glad and enjoy reading all the success and minor fails installing these. Lol

I am set to travel to Japan next week and stay there for a month.. Probably going to miss out on the 2nd batch again. :annoyed:Ugh.. With a pocket wifi to help me stay connected, I hope I would be able to purchase one out there!! :fingerscrossed::spending:

One place I plan on visiting there is the Toyota plant and to find any 4x4 shops.. Maybe I can score an Japan exclusive TRD part.. Yeeeah!

    https://www.toyota.co.jp/en/about_toyota/facility/toyota_kaikan/factory/about.html

Keep up with the great post everyone and @MESO great mods, Stew. Wish I can share your mods at the Toyota and offer you a contract to do next Tacoma. Yeeeeah!! Stay safe everyone!! yeeeah!!

I actually took both sides out and squeezed the accordion part down to make for a shorter distance to stick the screwdriver through. That’s just how I did it I don’t think it makes a difference either way. Just do what’s easiest I guess.

Wow that was easy. I think the next part is the hard part right?

Tip: work the outside rim with your fingers pulling out, from the inside of the cab push out where you are pulling. Came right out with some dad strength.

I used a zip tie as a fish tape with a little bit of lube and stuffed a shop rag in the door as to not chaff the bundle of wires each side went right in no issues and no damage which made the boot the easy part.

I'm not sure how it would have been possible without taking both sides of the boot out. Unless you were an audio installer in a previous life ;)

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Was an electrician on jet aircraft for 3yrs. You'd be surprised the tricks you learn to get wires in almost impossible places.

Pulling both sides out helped me too. Did you get everything sorted?

Hey how are you guys hiding this wire or seating it so it’s not jumbled up?

I gave up and just put a loop in it and shoved the panel back on.

There's more room in that a pillar than you think. It's ok if it sticks out a bit, it will fit. Just make sure it doesn't get in the way of the air bag.
