FS: 16x8" Five Star Wheels - New Wheel from FN Wheels

Im starting to wonder now. I'm just going by what I was told by someone who knows a lot about the actual suspension side and uca themselves, maybe hes used to clearance on some other types of vehicles.

 

I’m just telling you right now, guys run 285/70/17 tires on TRD wheels all the time and the trd wheels are like +10 or even more. Not even close to 0 and they have plenty of room. 0 offset is more than enough to clear the UCA with a 285/70/17

 

When's the last time anyone heard from Dustin??? I don't wanna blow him up like a high school chick who just lost her V-card, but he never responds to any of my txts or pics up the phone

Kind of a shame, cause all i've seen in this thread is how amazing he is to work with ....I'm starting to think my 17" Five star dreams are going down the tubes =/

 

I last heard from him on 5/6/19 when I asked about an eta for the 17”. He said at that time they were due to arrive within days. Haven’t heard anything since.

 

Leave voicemails and emails and be patient. He often lays really low so hopefully that’s just the case. Maybe he’s just really busy? I dunno

BTW.... for those who have seen both in person, is the dish/concavity of the 17" wheel the same as the 16"? From photos is appears to be not as deep and less concave/flatter. I really hope it's deeper, or at least the same.

I've tried him quite a bit, with no luck. ...but don't worry, I'm about to loose my patience and mount my new tires on my old wheels, so as soon as I do that, he'll show hi face ... so that I'll loose the $80 it's gonna cost me to mount them! lol

 

How long have you been trying him for? That’s probably what will happen lol. Luckily I can be patient, hopefully he calls us back soon.

Are these durable for trail riding?

 

@RubberTank I just talked to Dustin this morning. It helps that I live 20 mins from his warehouse. A lot going on right now with the tariffs and Trump - China situation since he has his wheels manufactured overseas. He has been behind keeping up with demand. He's all out of a lot of wheels right now and waiting for a big shipment to arrive late June/early July. Try him again in 30 days or so.

 

Oh damn, that sucks. Well hopefully he can get it all straightened out. I’ll try him towards the end of the months. Thanks for the update!

 

May we ask what method you were able to get a hold of him by? ...so we know how best to reach him later this month.

 

@SDmtnbkr After many many txt messages and phone calls, I realized the trick was early morning communication. I'm in real estate in sales. I kind of used a prospect approach. I reach out at different times of the day and tested afternoon, noon, mid week, friday... I had success Saturday morning early between 8am-10am. I think it worked because those are the hours he usually gets to his warehouse to work. It's all about timing I guess. He's a busy guy doesnt have much help.

 

It would be nice if he could give an update on this somewhere

 

@mattslayer As I wrote earlier, he's a busy guy and refuses to hire any staff again. He basically has taken on all the work hence the reason his social media is also not updated and hasnt posted in a while.
