We went back and forth, originally I was against it , but based off the fact that I’ve seen bottles that sell for $30 sell for $150 just because of the dumbass sticker , I gave in, it may be part of the reason if sold out so fast today.

I got to sample the barrel strength at the overland expo a couple weeks ago. It was much better than the standard orange label offering. I'm not a fan at all of that drink, but I left with a changed mind about the barrel strength.

Actually reading some bad reviews. Hmm, we'll see.

I think I paid $44, so at that price, I'm honestly happy with it.

I am definitely not a good reviewer, however it has the Rye spice, and oak on the nose. At 100 proof I feel it's just the right amount of bite.

    So far I like it.

I was curious so I poured a second glass of Booker's. Was going to do a Baker's comparison, but it wasn't opened yet.

To my untrained palette, I want to say that they have a very similar profile, however if they were electric guitars, the Knob Creek would be at a 6 or 7, and Booker's at a Spinal Tap 11. Longer finish, more bite, more flavors, etc.

As per my usual, I sample from a Glencairn, but then have a pour in a tumbler with a large cube of Fiji water ice. As the ice melts, I get much more honey flavor.

Not sure how many of you guys (and gals - @Cuffs) have tried the Legent, but I'm a few drams in and it's decent. Can't quite put my finger on it, but there's something different about it. I like it, but not sure I'm going to buy another bottle.

I did just crack open my Macallan Edition no. 4. I'll give that a try in a few days.

    Whiskey sour courtesy of @bvbull200

    3 parts Monkey Shoulder
    1 part Simple Syrup
    2 tbsp lemon juice
    1 egg white

Mixed whiskey and egg white in iced shaker
Poured over ice. Added lemon juice and simple syrup. Stir.

Pretty damn good and the egg is awesome. Gives a great viscosity

I'm partial to Irish Whiskey. Maybe because the majority of my DNA is Irish, or that I've been there a couple times. My favorite is Middleton Very Rare, followed by 12 year old Redbreast.
