Finally got some decent beers again here in Granada. Brewery called La Hermosa here made a decent Porter and an awesome IPA.

Found a craft beer bar tucked up a back street that had a lot of good stuff on tap. The Cantillon was gone...

Garage brewing/The veil - Sheet 33, Porter with vanilla and cinnamon

Espiga - Citrus base, DDH Spanish IPA

Garage project - Triangles, session IPA

A Spanish hazy pale - La Mala Pinta

Then bought a bottle to go from an Italian brewery, pastry stout with cacao, cherry and hazelnut

All pretty good, but the last one was a bit disappointing.

 

My Lawnmower Wheat Lager I brewed a couple weeks back...

How was the lager process? I love lagers but they seem intimidating to brew

 

Pretty much the same as an ale, but with 2X more yeast. You just need temp control during fermentation to hold the lower temps that are usually needed. I actually fermented this one at 60*F, so the low side of typical ale temp range. Time frame is about the same as ales (grain to keg in 2-3 weeks) and I usually do my lagering once the brew is on tap. They usually drop pretty clear in about 2-4 weeks.

 

I nominate this for most beautiful non-beer, non-female background picture in this thread. Give me a fine beer with a remote mountain lake before I kick.

 

Not bad, questioning the 6.2% claim but the can is fucking art. Donnie Darko is figuring out the secrets of time travel on this cylindrical piece of aluminum while Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole fight forever.

Honestly this one was unreal. A TDH but still only a DIPA. So much packed into this, the hop saturation was ridiculous.

 

Had a nice liter of an Amarillo SMaSH at the only brewery in Huntington, WV, The Peddler. I didn’t get any pictures but I also had a hazy IPA and a non hazy double IPA. All were quite good and I would recommend hitting this place up if for some reason you ever find yourself in the area.

 

Been doing a whole lot of liking in here and not a lot of posting the last 3 months. That will change since I get back home on Wednesday AM!

Deep breath... One of the best new breweries in Wisconsin (Hacienda Beer Company) opened their first Milwaukee location yesterday, it was fantastic!
