hey guys i was looking through craigslist and found a couple of guys from a fabrication co called btf fabrication.

i emailed them and the guy said he can fabricate a long travel kit for 1st and 2nd gen tacoma's for 1600 out the door. too good to be true? has anyone had their long travel made by these guys?

he emailed me a couple of pics from one he did on a 1st gen, it includes: $1600. includes upper arms w/ 1.25" uniballs, adapters and bolts, boxed lower arms, tierod extenders and extended brakelines.
he said price will be the same for 2nd gen.

The products BTF makes are top notch. I have a couple of their products in my Jeep and they are indestructable. If you are looking at the items on craigslist/ebay double check the items on the BTF website aswell to make sure someone isn't trying to make a knockoff product using the BTF name.

http://www.bluetorchfab.com/ is the company I was thinking of, NOT the one you linked. I almost feel that the BTF you linked is a knock off trying to piggy back on Blue Torch Fab's name.

Becareful with the long arms from garage company's. Find out what kind of metal they are using, the dom thickness, type of welding done, and if possible anyone else that have used their product. Depending on the wheeling you do the A-arms take a lot of abuse and if they are looking for "guinea pigs" for their products, I would be very very warry in their product.

Best of luck with what you decide,

    Bacon

this is what the guy from btf fab wrote back to me,
"I use all DOM tubing, and cold-roll plate for the arms. if you look or ask around on dezertrangers.com, you will see a lot of people there that have our work on thier trucks. also, if you want to check out the nissan I am doing now, i think you'll be impressed."

Hi bacon, just to address this issue, My brother Travis and I decided on BTF several years ago, (Brandon/Travis' Fabrication) we later learned about blue torch, but we already had a little bit of a name for ourselves in the desert community, so we weren't sure if we wanted to do a name change. so when we had the website made, we just added the "-fabrication" to try to differentiate at least a little from blue torch...

I absolutely agree that people should be wary of garage fab guys that are building suspension. it's not rocket science, but there are a lot of ways to screw it up if you don't know what you're doing.

I can guarantee that we are NOTHING like batch racing at least as far as ethics go. I've never seen thier product in person so I can't really comment on that.

edit: here's the nissan we are doing right now, it's a little "out of the box", so it's a fun build.

Holy shit this looks promising. Might end up having lt sooner than I thought.

Questions, I am on my phone so I couldn't go over to your site to look for answers so sorry if you have the info posted there but here they are.
Is your kit compatible with 4x4?

How many inches of travel would a 2nd gen kit pull.

What are the lift and width numbers.

What shocks/coil overs are they kits compatible with?

    How consistent are the kits.

    Is glass needed up front?

Couple more about component but I forgot....no coffee this morning lol but I ask them later.

BTW that rear end looks promising.

def interested on specs on the kit... how much over per side, travel, size shock

their kit doesn't use the factory coil bucket so i'm guessing it's a 10" shock...

juding by the pic of that rear end they are working on you can already tell they are not another batch racing...

def want to see more pics and info

Yeah I know. But thats better than a kit for $2,600+ and THEN buy the other stuff.

This is something I CAN afford...!
