Last week I took my 2018 4Runner for its 10,000 mile oil change, ended up driving home a 2019 Taco ! Was not planned but couldn’t turn down the deal they offered me. So much happier with the Taco, drives nicer, better features and just so much more useful than the 4Runner. Prior to T4R I had a 96 Land Cruiser, before that LX450, 2 FJ60 AND 3 FJ40. I’m loving the Taco, great ride and so much more practical. Longtime member on ih8mud and loving the info on here for Taco. Anyone have any ideas about mounting the Ram HD mount ?

Welcome welcome and welcome! My first bit of advice if I may....when you're eventually tired of the gear hunting, over shifting, super low rpm two gear overdrive dead pedal syndrome go check out the OV Tune forum. Its literally like waking Frankenstein. :curls:

    Workin' on it....
    Likewise.....would take a T4R in a heart beat.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my truck but now that a bed isn’t critical for me, a 4R is superior in almost every way.

Congrats on the new truck OP! Have fun with it.

My 4Runner was not pleasant to drive. At 60mph I felt a shimmy and on the highway it was horrible, felt like I was always been blown around. Not knocking it but just didn’t have a good experience. Taco drives so much nicer and for me the pick up bed is much more convenient. Massive difference in driving experience between 4Runner SR5 and TRD Pro version. SR5 dips hard braking and not as stable as pro, couldn’t afford pro. FINAL WORD, so much happier with Taco

Can’t have a proper welcome thread without someone mentioning OVTune and someone else mentioning buying a 4Runner.

If you’re happy that’s the main thing! I do like the updated interior of the 3rd gens.

My Taco used to nose dive too when braking. 700 lb coils fixed that and I’ve removed the sway bar also.

Have fun with the new rig!

Not sure how to do that on this site but if you search the 3rd gen Tacoma forum and type in OV Tune you will find it.
