Oh you’re totally right, those damn screws holding the stereo and pocket in are JIS. That’s why I stripped them, I have to use a deep I think 10mm to get them out.

 

Actually, I forgot, I have always had my cluster set pretty dim, like maybe only a 1/4 brightness.

 

yeah mine's always on full brightness haha. And I always have my lights on when I'm on the freeway so the dash bulbs are on quite a bit.

 

Yep, I made the same mistake of stripping my radio & glove box screws. I never thought they would be JIS but when I used my JIS screwdrivers they fit perfect. For my door panels they don't seem to be, JIS & Philips screwdrivers fit fine but that's usually the case for #3 screw heads.

I have some serious sinus issues so hopefully the septoplasty cures it

but I wanted to book a sleep study to be sure I don't have sleep apnea, because my dad did have it.

The boy thinks he has what it takes to be a man now that he's graduated and has a Frontier.

 

I removed the entire interior of the 5-lug and I had no issue using Phillips on the fasteners. The only screws I ever stripped was the grab handle screw.

 

I don’t think I actually own JIS bits. I have a big security driver set from Tekton, it might have it.

 

Oh by the way, if you search you might come across Hozan JIS screwdrivers for less than Vessel. Hozan usually distributes good tools but I hear their JIS screwdrivers suck.

 

Thankfully Toyota makes most of those interior fasteners 10mm as well as JIS. Its like they knew us stupid Americans would strip them out with our Phillips drivers.

It's usually tightening the screws where you'll notice cam out the most or for really tight screws. I never new what JIS screws were until I started working on Hondas. I always wonder why even my brand new expensive tool truck screwdrivers would strip them sometimes.

Once I got my Vessel JIS screwdrivers it was unbelieveable how well they fit cause they were the proper tool.

Yep, those are the exact same ones I bought. But I didn't buy the set cause I didn't see a need for the flat heads. I just bought all the cross point ones individually as well as a stubby.
