Screaming deal on a solar panel. 230W for 100 bucks. Massive though, need to mount and get a good MPPT charge controller. Any recommendations @Canadian Joe

My 100 watt system has kept my 60 litre fridge / freezer running for 2 week now with the fridge and freezer set at 0 C , with it mounted flat and not tipped up nor plugged into truck. Mine will tip up as I made some hinges with aluminum angle and bolts and made a small angle brace to hold it.
I have a 27 group AGM deep cycle battery that is not connected to the truck charging system .
I personally would not connect them as there is no chance for a failure that you cost you two dead batteries out in the middle of nowhere. I have the power cord from my fridge run right up beside my truck 12 volt on the console so when I driving I can plug it into the truck if needed .Make sure you get a controller that you can program it you are going to use an AGM battery as they need to be charged at a little higher volts then most of the programed AGM setting . I think it's around 14.6 volts Also I had problems when I first set it up running to fridge through the controller which apparently some time happens.When I call them on it they said connect the fridge directly to the battery and not to the controller, them it works fine.
I eventually want to get a roof rack on the cab to mount the solar panel on as then I can keep the fridge running when the camper is not on. It sure spoils you when at work on a construction site and your lunch and drinks are cold in the summer .

So the dude is selling more as well. Got a hold of a storage locker full of them. The one I got my hands on was a YL 230 P-29b [https://pdf.wholesalesolar.com/modu...15.1053896689.1560960674-447264831.1560960674] So ill need a controller that can handle a 30V/230W/8.4A load, or is that just over engineering? I was looking to this one but it states it can handle loads of 220W on a 12V system. So i think i will need something bigger. I dont want to fry the system on the first day haha

I do have the second battery waiting to get mounted underneath the truck somehow/somewhere so if i can figure out what controller (and maybe a small 300w inverter) to use then i could move on to the next steps lol

@Atlas86 took the time to build this for me j just supplied the ammo can. Did a bang up job. Need a strip of fire resistant rope to make it air tight.



Also need to organize these drawers a bit better. In need of some better cookware and less styrofoam plates other than that its beach camping for Canada Day
