I’m thinking about 18x9 wheels with -12 offset and 265/65/18 nitto ridge grappler tires just wondering if they would clear without any modifications

    Thanks Sharpish!

“These are the largest tire sizes that will fit a Tacoma with a stock suspension:

    For 2016+ Tacomas: 265/70/17, 265/75/16 or 265/65/18

For 2005+ Tacomas: 265/70/17, 265/75/16 or 265/65/18, depending on what size wheels you have

For 2004 and below Tacomas: 265/75/16

Lifted 5 lug trucks can run up to a 31" tire, depending on the lift used.”

You will be fine with that setup. An 18x9 wheel with a -12 offset has a backspacing of 4.5 inch. The setup will stick out about roughly 1" further than an OEM wheel. Keep in mind that setup would not be ideal for an offroad type environment.

Why would it not be ideal for an offroad type environment?

You would want more rubber and less wheel for sidewall protection especially if running low psi. IMO, a 9" wide wheel is too wide for a the OP's 10" wide tire. Most here prefer a 16x8 wheel to run 285s. You will also get better AT/MT tire selections.

The most off road I see is a gravel road and hunting in the fall
