Uwharrie National Forest " URE " permanent thread

I spent the day up there with a couple of friends today. I was actually really impressed with the amount of trail maintenance they have been doing.

 

Did they do anything with the service road heading in ?

 

May head out there this Sunday to get some time in on the trails. Going to try and get a bunch of truck stuff done before the weekend so that I can wheel

At URE? What's wrong with the road?

 

I didn’t think it was bad. Just a little bit of potholes and washboard.
Edit: We towed our ATVs in with an old F250, so every bump was brutal.

Going to start plucking away at my list in the afternoons so that I can go.

 

Oh that, They can fix the potholes and washboard until they are blue in the face.. The only way to really fix it is pave it, and when that happens I don't want to go there anymore.

 

It was really bad over the winter and the first couple of weeks they reopened. Some places they barely drug trees off the road from uprooting because of all the rain. There was a really bad gully wash at the turn onto the road to get to RML. They took a box grader through there at some point because it was a lot better than when me and Rob went through there.

 

I plan on making a trip here before the end of June if you’d like to join @ovrlndkull and @FadedComa. I’m gonna plan a trip with @twheat40 and @Mobtown Offroad. Drive down Friday afternoon, wheel Saturday, little wheeling Sunday and drive home.

 

This weekend is my wheeling weekend next I'll probably be installing locker the last weekend its off to KY to Dirty Turtle OR

I don’t mind but I don’t remember how built up you are. I plan on trying everything there I can and as far as I know there’s a couple that are pretty hard.

Usually I take my 3rd gen 4runner with 4 or 5 other 3rd gen 4runners. Haven't taken the Tacoma out there yet, but it should be a good time with the locker.

 

I'm completely stock, only limited to the bunny hill trails

 

I have enough armor to get around. The only trail not doable for me is the front of Daniel. I mean I could do it, but would probably tear some shit up.

 

I'll up this week Friday/Saturday/Sunday for a camping trip, maybe a little bit of wheeling and to grab skinnys from @Sandman614
