The next time I have a reason to have the wheels off the truck I'll assess the damage done to by the install of the XL lugs and go from there. Because the truck is used off road, I'll either have the wheels machined to accept the XL lugs or install longer studs.

    SWEET..
The black looks better on inferno than I thought, and having seen the black in person, I know that looks sharp!
Center caps are a little stubborn, but at least you know they're not going anywhere. Kid at the tire shop was struggling before I stopped him and told him I'd handle the caps. lol

How do these hold up with offroading? i know a few people here mentioned they were going to test them out but didnt really see anything. These look pretty nice and are on my wishlist (these are the F5s).

    F5s?

The parent wheel company is Vorsteiner, a well established luxury/supercar wheel manufacturer. Venomrex is their off-road branch. The same flow-forged technology that goes into their supercar wheels is used in their Venomrex wheels. They are EXTREMELY strong and lighter than most. They are designed for off-road use, not to just look good.

Has there been any resolution to the lug nut question? Is it a concern?
I've been following this thread for awhile, and would like to pull the trigger on these, but the concerns some people have had are making me hesitant.
    Thanks!

According to Venomrex, they have not heard of this issue. They do admit that Toyota has shorter than normal studs on their vehicles, but the Factory lugs or the Venomrex wheels will work just fine. If you have concerns, then you can put in longer studs.

The Venomrex lugs, and any other brand conical / acorn, are right at 5 1/2 revolutions to full torque. That's substantially less than OEM, and has made more than one tire shop in this thread mention it to the owner. The next time the wheels come off my truck, they'll be getting machined or I'll install longer studs.

Venomrex HAS heard of the issue, and I have to hope they will be addressing it in the production of Tacoma specific wheels in the very near future.
A simple adaptation to the machining process to facilitate the use of XL lugs would do the trick.
