Okay maybe they’re fake but lately you(i) have been noticing thicker people with abs. And I’m always amazed. Like do they workout enough to push through the fat some? I’ll find pics in a bit.

So if you’re talking about like a powerlifter in example who might have a slight gut but abs still flex through, that persons body fat is still low but higher than a body builder, because those are two different disciplines of fitness. Their abs are still developed and have increased and solid functional muscle development, but with slightly higher body fat because his goal is to lift something really heavy and explosive...once. A body builder wants the definition and muscle look but usually at the sacrifice of having a lower one time rep.


Then there are the “body builders” who have a bloated tummy area. That’s organ swelling from using gear. It’s one of the many prices one pays when using steroids.

 

Like these are fake right ?

I’m fat. And I still have abs

 

He’s kinda fat. Typical power lifter build. Not taking away from the strongest man title.

 

There are pros and cons to everything.

I have a tendency to gain weight if I’m not careful. Some see this as a curse. I don’t. I feel I have more control over my body type than someone whos got a raging metabolism and has to eat 4,000cals a day to gain 1/2lb of muscle a month.

Everyone has their own struggles, so we can’t get to looking at others like their lives are made in some way.
I have had people look at me and say its not fair I can be thin and lean all the time. I get mad because they say it like its easy for me. I say No to myself a lot and it has taken me years to try to find balance.
Plus I workout excessively because of my stress and anxiety levels... so if you want me to trade that for being fat and chill I might haha.

Like the pics of the guy you posted. Diet and fitness are his full time job. So its not like he just looks like that.

I think this is exactly like a point you brought up before, focus on you not on others.
Be happy with you not strive to satisfy others. You’ll never be happy working for a body type just to impress everyone else.

As long as your wife wants to jump on you who cares what everyone else has to say.

 

He probably has a lower bf % than you. That’s a lot of muscle slapped on there.

 

That’s true. There’s a kid who details my runner. Skinny skinny. Says he wants to gain weight and get big but can’t. Told him to eat eat eat and he swears he does but it doesn’t work. That would be a weird feeling for sure.

 

Can confirm that. I could not gain weight in college when I played volleyball. Got stronger for sure as my lifts increased all the time but I never could get past about 170. It sucked. Ate all the time and just never got bigger. I think now my metabolism is slowing down a bit. Either that or I’m making up all the calories in all the beer I drink.

 

He was competing at 430-440lbs but doc said he's literally killing himself being that heavy. Eddie is truly one of the strongest beings on earth even though he gives up a lot of leverage (Height) to Thor and Brian Shaw.

 

He also says it’s genetics that help Him so much

If you haven’t - I recommend everyone should watch “Born Strong” on Netflix. If you want to learn more about what these strongmen (Thor, Shaw, Hall) go through to be at the level they are. It’s awesome

I definitely fall in to the "fat with abs" category. lol I could easily stand to lose 20-30 lbs and a couple waste sizes but still have pretty good abs, and with the right flex/angles they can look even better. But, if I completely relax and just let everything hang, they all but disappear. Spent years bodybuilding and many more years powerlifting so the abs just got well developed to push through that outer layer.
