re installed mine today things leak constantly its a pain. last time i put a thick bead under each rail then caulked the top of the rails worked for a while but started leaking again. So i found a page on here and a guy puts another foam gasket down the inside and him and a few swear by it so i tried that and caulked the top of the rails with rv seal should take care of it. Guna re rout the drain tubes through the side of the bed maybe tomorrow. I find with them running straight down that they get hit all the time

you sound like you work for one of our suppliers or my quality group!
We don't trace the drums to specific vehicle, like we do with drive shafts, strut assemblies or transmissions. We would have to do a range of vehicles the size of the lot, either side of the suspect vehicle. Ie, if the build lot was 500, we'd have to check 1000 cars.

Last week, we found 2 raccoons in the engine bay of our Rav4's. They had eaten part of the engine covers.

Not in the wires as far as I know. Just some of the plastic parts. These are brand new Ravs that we just built.

well, I guess all that eco-friendly recyclable materials that everyone is trying to use are tasty to the rodents!

I’ve seen some ultrasonic devices like this that can be mounted under engine bay. Maybe that will do the trick.

Makes sense still a small size due to the lot traceability systems. I wonder if those drums have a different "ring" to them, sometimes the real bad ones sound noticeably different vs a good one. Light tap with a hammer.

Worked in Quality for quite a few years. My first real experience with Toyota I was working for AG Simpson heading up the Metrology Dept when Toyota set up Cambridge, I guess I made a good impression because they sent me to Toyoda City for training in the TPS. Spent a lot of time with the tooling and manufacturing transfer from Japan to the Toyota Cambridge plant. Taught a lot about western fixture/gauging, metrology and blueprint standards. Also spent a lot of time with Toyota Engineering in the Cambridge Ballet. LOL did we get palooooted in that bar.
By day an unwavering professional VP and at night screaming Banzaaaai cause he just got the marshmallow off the stripper's nipple with a long stick with a little gripper on the end. LOL

Toyota plants in Japan you can get beer in the vending machines. Lol I found that out by surprise because I could not read Japanese so would just pick a can at random. Traditional Japanese food did not make my pallet happy. Loved the culture and history, hated how packed the cities were. Could not develop a taste for Sake either. Yuch.

I consulted for projects and sat on committees in a log of the big Automakers but wouldn't work for them.
Tier One supplier all the way.
That way I got to see what everybody was doing. :)
And doing the R&D that the Automakers take credit for LOL.
Seen and worked with every component being manufactured for cars/trucks.
    Except the raw electronic components.

But I got tired of traveling, both my jobs had me away from home most of the time so since my one 20yr contract was up with one group , and with my background I'd end up in an executive office dealing with the same BS day in day out , and not running a test or r&d test lab (I'm still a kid no matter how old I am)
I decided I'd retire and do something fun, so I became a Sparky. :)

Hahaha I wonder what it is in the plastic that is attracting them. Might even be the mold release compound.

Or haha, had a splay or gloss issue and used a biodegradable product to rework them... like as we mentioned earlier peanut butter. (it works on ABS and Nylon quite well actually) Norlisk was working at one of your suppliers!

There's a test to come up with for your design validation testing...

    Critter Pallet Testing.

Let me introduce the new department head

    He'll work for peanuts,

Real classy bud. Next time you want to buy something, be clear about it.

You replied to me with “ok I’ll be in touch” and then disappeared for over a week and a half. Doesn’t sound like a deal, sounds like you were thinking about it. In that time someone came to me with a firm offer and asked to meet so they’re sold....
