i would love to have something like that. I like that the inside is that caramel color, it's manual, and is decent on fuel.
My biggest complaint with BMW would be parts and insurance costs. If you don't mind me asking what is insurance on that thing?

I’m joking. Obviously I use nitrile.

Really though, I’ve got some cut resistant gloves that are disposable that work much better than the nitrile gloves when wrenching.

About the same as the Taco and parts are reasonable, as long as you shop around.

The key with older BMW's, is DIY. Labor on any repair can get very expensive. If the transfer case wears out, a rebuild can run roughly $2.5k. Most problems are with the drive chain stretching and the upgrade replacement is about $89 on eBay. This doesn't include fluids or if a bearing needs replaced as well, but do the math...

Also, the transfer actuator repair is several hundred, but the plastic gear that wears out every 100k, sells for $10 on eBay.

repairs would be similar to my TDI if I didn't maintain it myself.

however I've got a great shop in Montevallo that did a clutch and timing belt, I bought parts and they did the labor. Whole ordeal costs $1200. And I now have timing belt tools.

I considered going with a TDI or GTI, but I owned a 325i for over 10 years and learned a thing or two about them along the way.

ok, y'all help me out here. I think we've discussed it some just want some opinions.

    ground tent.

    what I want:
    • instant setup/teardown (similar to the gazelle, don't want to be looping rods through the tent)
    • tall enough to stand up in
    • rainfly or waterproof
    • good ventilation
    • large enough for 2 adults + 2 dogs
    • would like a small space aside from the sleeping space to store items, but not as large as the T4Plus was that Matt had. this isn't a necessity just a desire

the leader right now is just the Gazelle T4 Hub Tent, but it is lacking the extra space I'd like for storing things. it may end up being the winner just want to know what you all have seen out there.

    I have a friend with a 2018 X5D and it's a blast to drive.

you could get an older one fairly cheap, I believe at 100k miles their about half off no matter year.

Diesel vehicles make sense in the nicer tier of cars since they usually require 93.

I run 93 in the taco and try to buy it at Costco as much as possible.

All gas BMW's require 93 octane, IIRC. A "d" BMW doesn't come in a manual, unless it's Eurospec.

I've heard good things about the Coleman from the scouting dads, but will do more research before I buy my next one
