that too, and just taking the dang thing on and off without a shop/hoist is so difficult.

a nice instant ground tent will be so much easier.

    what tent do you have?

I actually have a fossil REI tent that my girl had growing up. We will see how it does as I have been bumming my buddys tent lately. I was thinking about getting a new one from REI, but at their sale I got the exped blow up mattress thing which was still a good coin. Any recommendations?

I'm in the hunt myself. I'm tempted to wait until the REI opens here in town this fall before purchasing, but I don't know if I want to wait that long.

My leader right now is the Gazelle T4 Tent. https://www.gazelletents.com/Camping-Tents

Dammit! This is the sort of thing that will get me in trouble with making a crazy purchase, but damn they look good! I assume they are pretty low pro when it comes to storage in the bag?

they are fairly long I believe, I know the T4 bag is like 5.5ft when packed up.

definitely not a backpacking tent, but great for vehicle camping. I'd strap mine to my bed rack.

There are 4 or 5 REI stores in Atlanta, and several in Tennessee. Just a short drive away.

They also sell via mail order - or "internet" for you young-uns.

It'd be a pure shame to waste an entire camping year just waiting to get a tent...

Yea that could be an option for me too as long as I can fit it around my rotopax. I like the design though. Nice and easy.

only thing I'm torn on is the reviews are mixed, and it doesn't have a secondary space for any sort of storing of items/taking off shoes...which might not be needed but would be nice.

Well I found them on Amazon for a decent price and considering I need a good tent to store in the truck when Im out mountain biking...decided to get the three man. Looking forward to it, the amazon reviews are pretty stellar actually.

yeah the T4 got like 1 or 2 more bad reviews than "small doors" like your T3 got haha! I'm stoked for you! they are a good price, and they look great...please do give me a nice full review of it when you get it, it may be the kick in the pants I need to get the T4.

I'd get the T3 but I'm not ground tenting if I can't stand up in it lol

I thought they said it would be like 68" in height? Either way that is pretty good for me to work with. I just need to get a solid tent that is lockable as my fear is having my truck parked at a ski resort and having it chilling on the roof if it wont fit in the truck.

yeah that's 5'8" I'm 5'10"....I told my girlfriend I'd only sell the RTT for the ground tent if we got one I could stand in comfortably haha.
