Btw, are these notches for anything in particular? I assumed if cut/drilled/dremel they can be used for running cable through?

I’ve been meaning to do a new video about it but shipping and customer service keep me very busy....
all you gotta do is like you said, dremmel the cutout on the plastic and run your power cords through. Pretty simple and many people will benefit from that.

No way I got the same cable last week it is absolute stealth! My problem is I plug mine directly into my phone and the damn case is in the way. I am gonna keep it and just trim the case a little by the power port hah!

I still need to do my cable rerouting behind the dash trim hopefully Thursday of Sunday on my days off!

 

I know a lot of people recommended the Choetech charger, but I’m finding it doesn’t charge my iPhone XS. At best it shows its charging but the battery percentage stays the same. But if I’m running navigation the percentage actually goes down, even though the whole time it shows the phone is charging.
Does anyone have any success with any other Ram mount wireless charger/holders?

 

I use the Scosche MagicMount Pro (listed in Product Discussion below) with an S10+. Haven't had any issues aside from having to spend a few seconds to align the phone correctly to get fast charging.

 

I just bought a batch of 180 degree cables, I will make them available pretty soon to all of you that are looking to keep your set ups as clean as possible!

 

If anyone has any pictures of their suction/vent or other crappy set ups before the DMM, I’d like to make a compilation of those. If you don’t have a DMM yet let us see why you need one and I might be able to hook some of you up with at least a discount or some free parts.

 

I wouldn't call it a crappy solution, since it was the only good solution for me before the DMM launched:



Prior to the Hondo mount, I did have a RAM suction cup on the windshield since I couldn't get it to hold to the top of the dash. That was a truly crappy solution.

And, there about half a million other 3rd Gen Tacos out there that need to know about it.

Yeah I would definitely not call the Hondo a crappy solution, it’s actually a very good one if’s only it didn’t almost completely disable the vent....
I’m looking for pictures of the comically bad stuff where the change would be most noticeable but it’s also good to see the contrast between some of the “better” stuff too.

 

Ah! Here in WA, the missing vent is not a big issue. Although, I can see that being a problem in SD.

I looked and don't have pics of the suction cup on the windshield with a 5in arm to get it anywhere near me. I also had a bumper on the bottom of the arm so that I could rest on the dash and not bounce around.

Finally installed my DMM and I love it. Easy to install, solid, and low profile.

Just need to wire up charging cables.
