The web site is pretty clear in setting the expectations of 6-8 weeks. I doubt that had stock lined up, rather we merely taking limited orders for the first batch to go into production.

I think that's a bit confusing since it clearly said xx In stock on the order page, then changed to out of stock when they were all sold. The slimlines say available on backorder. I also saw their social media posts that said to make sure you ordered early on 5/31 to get in on the first batch. All of that implies to me that had some number of them on hand ready to roll. If not, then I think @SouthernStyleOffRoad should probably come out and tell us that's the case.

I suspect "in" on the first batch to be made, not "in" on the first batch already done.

In addition, when they were asked 2 weeks ago on Facebook about immediate shipment, this was their answer:

"We are working on the production batch right now. The plan is to have 30-50 sets available."

But see my quote from them 2 weeks ago. That number jived with what they claimed to have in stock at order time. I'll reach out and ask them, and report back.

I just received a response from SSO regarding the inability to backorder the stage 2 kit their website:

The stage 2s will be available on the site again in about 2 weeks. You can either order the bumper now and order the stage 2s when they become available or you can wait to order them both. The stage 2s have a 6-8 week lead time and the bumper has a 8-10 week lead time.

Hi, just to clear up the questions on the first batch. We are currently trying to get all of those first 35 sets packed up and shipped in about 2 weeks. After this first batch is complete, we'll open up the stage 2's to be purchased at all times and the stated lead times will be correct at that point.

I don't think anyone is demanding that they receive their bumper immediately or even that it ship immediately. I think people, myself included, were just hoping for some feedback on where our $330 went and what we should expect for a timeline. The emails that I received thus far, made it seem like I'd be waiting on a 6-8 week timeline and production hadn't begun. When in reality, the bumper is made, waiting to be packaged and we'd be updated shortly.

I personally don't care if I had to wait the 8 weeks, as I don't plan on installing immediately. I've had my stage 1 installed for over a year, I just want the stage 2 portion to hang on to, until I'm ready for more :sawzall:

Just received an email telling me that my materials have arrived and fabrication will begin. I thought these were already manufactured...?

Fortunately, I'm not in any rush, but just confused by what SSO has been telling us.

These were not finished at the time the sale begun, but our website does not allow us to limit the number sold unless it considers them "in stock". All orders have been started by a dedicated fabricator and we expect shipment to begin late this week for bare versions and next week for powdered sets. We are also test fitting random samples to guarantee no surprises on this first batch.

Earlier in this thread we mentioned it would be about 2 weeks before shipments began. We are still right on track for that.
