Big thanks to @JustDSM. Just got some tuning done for my injectors. In today's tear down I noticed less gasket at the intercooler than I think should be. Truck must have got hungry. Can someone tell me if that foam gasket is supposed to be on the bottom and sides?

Yes, it should cover the intercooler on three sides.

@JustDSM even took the time to simulate how the truck would drive if the air injection failed. I took it for a short neighborhood drive. Damn, it cripples the truck with limp mode. So glad its gone.

Curious if anyone has seen how the 650 injectors run on the baseline TRD tune before tuning

So i finally did a good drive with the @JustDSM VVTi tune (paired with my shift point changes) this past weekend...

WOW talk about so much better driveability and welcomed power.

This was for a camping trip, bed / back seats of truck LOADED to the max with all sorts of gear. Between the GF and all the extra gear in the truck itself, that was 800-1000lbs of stuff, then my jetski trailer @ ~500lbs, standup jetski @315lbs + 5gallons of extra gas @ 30lbs, + firewood 75lbs + easy up @30 = 950ish. So i was loaded half decent with around 1750-2000lbs of extra weight.

The drive, From sealevel, up over the grapevine (4144ft) down to Bakersfield (essentially sealevel) back up to lake Isabella @ 2500ft. Total elevation gain of around 6700-7000ft (acounting for ups and downs) doing 65-70mph (shhhh dont tell CA LAW). Trip up I managed 18.6 mpg, and back was 18.0 (with a good chuck of around town driving and spelunking around the lake on the "back" tank).... THAT IS INSANE!!!!! If i was unloaded and just me in the truck doing those speeds thats the kinda MPG's I would be somewhat expecting / decently exited to get... but loaded n towing, unheard of in my past!!

I got a few tweaks I would like to do to my trans tuning changes revolving around 4th gear TCC lockup / release. But overall DAYUM, so so much better as far as the truck not hunting as much for my driving style.

Awesome feedback and sounds like an even more awesome trip. I need to get away from the keyboard and get back out under the sun. Inspiration.. :D

Sounds like your shift point revisions have paired up well with the motor tuning!
