Work on those crimps. A lot of us had them pull out of your tailgate harness.

Wire pulled out of the contact pin? Or contact pin pulled out of the connector housing? Two different problems with different solutions/needs/corrections.

The thing is, the people that have them pull off are not doing what I have asked them to do which is crimp them right away after removing them from the bag before pulling and testing them or before installing them and then pulling the item apart. I will say there have been some that have shown up off the wire which totally surprises me. For the amount of people on there that have mentioned it, don’t get me wrong, I do take the feedback, but for the amount of people on there that have mentioned it and as many kits as I have sent out it has been a small majority that have fallen off. However, I can just leave them off if it really is that big of a deal. To me, it’s a very small detail of the package that I’m least concerned about 4 butt connectors. I can definitely make that adjustment tho. Thank You!

    Btw...these are totally different crimps

Exactly! Two totally different situations. Totally different kinds of crimps/situations/everything’s. However, I do take the feedback. There is only so much that I can do on my end. My hands can only crimp down so much. Haha. I’m not going to go out and purchase a machine for these crimps and butt connectors. I’m sorry you guys. If it comes to that, then you might as well start doing these projects yourselves. Haha. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for when the package arrives at your house, to crimp down on the butt connector prior to your own install before installing and then pulling the wire off and then having the butt connector fall off. Then stating that your connector fell off too. Yes. That is not all of them and there have been some legit claims. I’m not saying that. However, stick them back on the wire and then just crimp them back down. That’s all there is to it. It’s a simple fix. For the ones that haven’t been able to go back on, I have asked to resend new connectors to the customers. That’s all I can do for customer service. I’m just glad that’s the only complaint I’ve received :bananadance: I will continue to try to fix the issue.

:rofl:It is pretty cool. I find myself just wanting to hit the button to hit the button ;) I know I haven’t posted a video yet, but when you hit the lock and unlock button on the panel, the mirrors Fold and Unfold as well. I just have my Panel remover right now so I’m not able to shoot that video.

So if you have the truck set to auto lock after a certain speed or shifting into gear, will that fold the mirror also? Also, is it even possible for this to have a DIY solution knowing what you do on the different types of mirror internal components? I would still like to explore the possibility of the DIY kit. Thanks Katie!

No it doesn’t fold when you are going 80 or your truck automatically locks on you when you shift to drive like mine does. I’ve done it  I think I have a solution. Just need to test the BSM Mirrors so I am waiting for the first batch to send me one :)

    UPDATE:

I’ve been receiving A LOT of inquiries regarding ORDERING for the 3RD GEN TACOMA POWER FOLDING MIRRORS, which is absolutely AMAZING!!!! As of right now, they have NOT been Officially Released yet.

I should be receiving the NEW Harness, that I just made my final adjustments to last week, this coming week from my vendor. Once I receive shipment in the mail, I will be placing them in their respective boxes and shipping them out to my customers in Batch ONE.

OPTION 2 PKG A - NON BSM PKG
    OPTION 2 PKG B - BSM PKG
OPTION 3 - BSM PKG CORE EXCHANGE

First one on the list will be sent out first:
Once they complete their installs, or at least enough of them and they are able to give me some feedback on their installs. I will OFFICIALLY RELEASE the POWER FOLDING MIRRORS into a PRE ORDER NOW phase just like I did with the 4Runners. This will give you a chance to get in the list and it will also give me a chance for two things (1) get an idea of how big of a BULK ORDER I need to place and (2) help make the payment on what I’m thinking is going to be a HUGE BULK ORDER on these!!!

As of right now, I want to get out the kits to the small batch I did to make sure there aren’t any kinks I didn’t think of. That way I can work everything out before the OFFICIAL RELEASE of my product. That’s kind of why I did it this way. Once I receive feedback from the first batch of individuals, I will then do a PRE ORDER phase so get ready!!! COMING SOON!

Just discovered this. I'm also a new Tacoma owner. Would love to get in on this if still possible. And if not, I'll still be following this for the full release.

    Million dollar question.

Will this mod (Folding mirrors) work with or in conjunction with the Meso Puddle Light System?

I would like to know as well. It would even be cool to see this as an add-on when this goes to full release.

The premise is, if your going to open up that door panel (for the folding mirrors), you might as well install the puddles PLUS the keyless entry on the passenger side while we're at it. At least that's my plan.

I’m already planning what all I can do as part of pulling apart the door panel. Looks like a little waiting is in order for these to release and the next batch of puddle lights to release

Either that or when these do go to a full release the option to purchase them along with the full kit.

I’m guessing yes. Looking at the photos in Katie’s build thread the motor assembly stays in the upper compartment of the mirror. I don’t really see anything different in that lower compartment from the existing mirrors except there will be more wires passing through there. Well I’ll be installing Meso puddles when I receive my mirrors so I guess we’ll see.

Please consider making a 'How To' install video. In fact, I'm sure demand would increase if Katie, and Stew released a 'How to' on YouTube to help ease the anxiety of us mortals who are pulling their trucks apart.

This would be epic. Puddle light, passenger auto door unlock, and auto folding mirrors? Who needs 2020 Taco? lol! With everything that's going on in the world of tax and tariff, I wouldn't be surprised if the 2020 Taco is more expensive than the previous year, off the lot.

Yes, it will. She is adding side cameras to hers using the MESO puddle pods and I am having her add it to mine as well.
