On a side note, i'm not crazy about the loose wires between the relay socket and the splice harness, but sleeving them isn't going to work that well especially with the resistor in line. I'm thinking I'll include some zip ties to tidy everything up and hold things out of the way. The nice thing is once it is installed and everything is buttoned up it's not visible. The OCD in me will always know it's there though. o_O

    Awesome!

    My switches arrived today.

Time to figure out how to get the backlighting working.

The lights work with the harness. The lower half is always lit, and the upper only lights up when the switch is "on".

Pfft! I would say to let that up to us? We all should have the zip ties lying around if we want / need them? Just my opinion.

Check here. I realize it isn't great, and you have to trust me it's in 2lo, but it's super easy.

Samples look nice. Certainly better than I could do. The connections around the relay socket look a little messy, but there's not much you can do about that. There isn't much room to work there. Everything is nicely covered with adhesive heat shrink and tidy otherwise. I got crimp samples and they look good too. I am tempted to ask about heatshrink/sleeving on the relay wiring, but it probably isn't practical. Like I said, zip ties will probably be included.

The only mistake I have found is that the 5 pin connector was reversed. It may have been my mistake assuming the wrong position for pin #1. I was able to re-pin it though. I'll be checking my drawing and making sure the vendor makes the change. I'm going to test it in my truck this evening and I'll grab some close up pictures.

I am also going to see if there are any good mounting points to use in that area. If there are I will draw up a mounting bracket for the relay so it isn't flopping around. I am also going to see if it is possible to reduce the length of the wire between the four connectors so it is a bit more compact. The limiting factor there is how difficult it will be to stuff the connectors. It doesn't hurt to ask though.

    I'm getting excited!

I installed the switches in the panel and almost got the garage door opener and reverse camera functioning but got pulled away by a friend. Did get the garage door opener successfully soldered. Now, I just need to find a place to mount it.

This mod sounded cool, but it wasn't until we picked up our travel trailer last weekend that I truly understood the need for it. Trying to back that thing up is a major pain with the high gearing of reverse in the MT. I was either burning my clutch up or stalling out just trying to back the darn thing into my driveway. Definitely am going to be in for this when it is ready!

My AoB switch is here and waiting as well!
