There's no cracking around the stud holes. Toyota uses a stupid paper ring inside the drum around the hub register. When you take the drum off, the paper tears and portions stick to the hub flange. The "cracking" is just the paper tearing and lifting.

In any case, the drum is unserviceable now because it's out of balance with that chunk missing.

Fuck sometimes its just hard to throw money at companies.

I have tried for 3 weeks to order a set of the new maxtrax extreme all metal studs. They just dont want my money. I cant get them to return an email or anything. I have given up on maxtrax.

I just got a set of these shipped with leashes cuz I have learned from using them, you need those. Hope they hold up to my non-sense. We shall see.

Ahh ok, makes sense to have the paper there. Glad they were not gonna put it back, rotor and drum failures can really pucker your backside when you get over 40mph. And bad heat treating can leave cracks that you won't see unless you magnaflux it.

I look at all those muddy fields and know I need a set... but figured I want a winch too if I'm going places where those will be required, then to put on the winch I have to do the front bumper ...

and down the rabbit hole we go... and I forgot I was looking for maxtrax... cause should I go Warn Semi hidden or cut front bumper and do something more robust... :annoyed:I was supposed to be looking at maxtrax.

    Like a kid with ADHD.

It’s a rabbit hole that never ends. I just said fuck it and went everywhere with nothing but maxtrax (which successfully been lost in the woods of Montana under 6ft snow) and tow rope.

There is no better time to explore than now, all the fancy accessories and toys can wait.

Got the grill notched so the hood line is perfect.

Installed the little cheeks under the headlights with some zipties. Front looks legit again.:cookiemonster:

Lol I made sure of it. Not sure how your retainer clips worked, but mine were too big so had to shave them down. Hope I never have to take these out lol

Splash guard template. Heading to number 1 tomorrow.

I reused the stock ones, I had not lost any yet. But they are sloppy now and some are not holding correctly. Need to find a better size on Amazon.
