No Apple products at present, although I've owned a couple iphones in the past.

I just get a giggle out of the fact that every smart phone in the world is just another phone, but the iphone owner always call his or hers by name by name.
Amused by small things, I suppose.. :)

Ahhhh Toyota of Escondido...there’s always a bro lined up to pay $$$ for overpriced tacos and tundras. Although I have to say their parts department has saved my ass a few times with random OEM parts I needed.

I went in to test drive a 4Runner for my wife and the sales guys were too busy to help us. We ended up buying the wife’s 4Runner from Toyota of El Cajon...very nice people and excellent price!

I would recommend comparing prices with other dealers. I checked a local dealer that I thought I could work with. Price was 44,500 and he was willing to drop it down to 40,500. Checked with another dealer and he's willing to do 37,500 on a 43,500 retail price tag. Still shopping but dealer two is really appealing right now.

That's a decent price. The real deal is to be had on the warranty and other items too, as well as financing. They're going to try and upsell you on the warranty and other packages that are a rip off. When we bought my wife's new car, the dealer said the extended warranty was $3k, I told him I'd pay $1,200 or I didn't want it. We settled on $1,300 I think it was.

For a real deal to be had you have to negotiate each part of the sale from trade in to warranty packages to financing. A lot of people get caught up in the sticker which is important, but $40k at 1.9% is a way better deal than $37k at 4%

I saw a similar version at one of the dealerships in OKC. Sticker was $51k. I told them I wanted it and asked how much they would come off the MSRP. After checking with their manager, they said nothing. I have a Sams membership and they had some partnership with Trucar. I went through their form and picked exactly the truck I wanted and submitted it. Within a few minutes I had responses from 4 dealerships within 20 miles of me with each of their quotes. I went to the one closest to my house that offered around $4k off MSRP not including the rebate. I told them I was coming so they had it cleaned up and ready. I drove it a few miles in a loop around the block and told them I wanted it.
The dealership with the modified Tacoma called me that evening asking if I wanted to come by and talk about it. I told them I already purchased another one at the dealership that came down on the MSRP. Their response “I wish you would have told us, we could have talked about it”. Ha ha ha. That’s why I went to see them.
And about the grill. I ordered the TRD pro grill online and installed it the first week. It gave me all the the malfunction alerts. So I took it off and put the factory back on mine so I could use cruise control. I called the dealership with the modified Tacoma that had the pro grill. The service manager said they had to disable the safety system on the truck to lift it and install the grill. The person who buys it will have to sign a disclaimer acknowledging that they understand that the system has been disabled.

Hahahahaha. I did the EXACT same thing with my FRS. When they called me back, I said, “I was serious and ready to buy but you wouldn’t listen. I am literally driving home right now in the car I just purchased”

Tucson, AZ dealerships are doing the same thing. I had one guy tell me his cheap step bar was a rock slider. Bought my 3rd Gen in Denver, CO and drove it back to AZ!
