ahhh ok. Would that have been an aftermarket add on or an actual toyota part the dealer installed - satisfying my curiosity

 

The stock vacuum CC somehow works on my Z, after some fresh new vac lines it all functions, even the HVAC controls

 

@Wulf if i remember reading right the Early 1uzs benefit from the VVTI 2uz heads by getting an extra 70 or so hp and a flatter torque curve. obviously custom engine management or getting a 2uz ecu running it would need to happen too

 

i rarely see vacuum actuators go bad for CC

 

well well well I will have to research this

A 2uz ecu would also help with the OBD2 check for emissions testing

 

When was the last time Toyota used vacuum for anything other than the FPR and EGR

 

look into it for sure. i only grazed what i could find, may have misread. but i believe the 2uz heads do flow much better. You have a early 1uz so you have the beefiest rods too. 2uz rods are glass

 

LS400 battery was dead dead and I didn't want to deal with backing it down the hill to have room to jump it so I worked on the 250 instead.

Gave those expensive unit bearings some Lucas red and tacky bearing grease through the ABS hole

 

i work on more than toyotas my friend! lol


lots of buddies with classic american cars and older jap cars mostly 80s nissan and hondas... no old toyotas sadly

 

Yeah, I've never had an intake like this that I put together, there was a lot of loosen a fastner, tighten another ect... I got scared that it was a lifter/rod.

I can only imagine they beat the shit out of packages.
