I remember back when the latest gen tundra came out all the dealers here took them to 4wp and had them outfitted with those wheels and grill with the Stars on them and a levelling kit... Probably 3.5k max in parts... Marking them up for at least double that ... And those ugly AF low profile tires... But hey I can't blame them if people buy them. They're doing the same thing with the tacos now.

So that color of quicksand looks really good to me. It seems quite a bit lighter than the ones I see around denver. Is there a lighter quicksand color now?

Those are nice things to spend money on. An over-inflated price tag for a Tacoma sounds more like a bad decision.

Might explain why my local dealer is shipping pros all over the country. They list them for 46,500 and sell them as fast as they come in.

Some of these are pretty good. When I sell mine I’ll probably start at 45k. It has maybe 25k in mods. :spending:

2019 trd pro comes with fox shocks that cost around $4k if you priced it separately. Also comes with lockers and the top of the line off-road electronics including crawl control. Interior changes etc. It's under warranty and you don't have to worry about some 16yr old kid screwing it up at the 4x4 shop. Some people are disabled and cannot do the work themselves and yes pavement princesses... All in all the upgrade makes more sense than the responses and the OPs statements. If you ask my opinion it's actually not a bad deal. You don't have to pay out of pocket it gets put into the loan. I don't get how this is at all a bad deal. It's more than just some TRD stickers and cake decorating. A lot more.

The initial cost of a Tacoma is expensive. And dealer add-ons are always way overpriced .But, covered under warranty.
Lets get down to the root of the cost. You get what you pay for. Period. I've had my 07 Sport for 12 years now. Not one problem. Here that? Not one! Now go figure the cost for say 2 vehicles that might of lasted the 12 years without a problem. Still less expensive. I have kept my Tacoma for several reasons. One. Its a damn good truck. Two. It's paid off. Three. Can't seem to find any truck or vehicle other than another Tacoma that interests me (see two), and I'm in the car business! So, literally BUCK UP at the dealership and pay for it. Because, years, hopefully decades later you'll be glad you did.

With all the technology going into today’s vehicles I personally don’t see any current vehicle lasting 12 yrs trouble free.

Indeed. Ironically, the original plan was to add “technology” as a means to increase vehicles’ reliability.

But automakers are adding technology at such fast pace that that’s just not happening.

Gentlemen, I am that tool. I'm 50. I had a Toyota 4 banger, went to off road warehouse, did the Rancho 5000's, the Rikken Raider 31.10.5's. But now I don't want to deal with after market, warranty issues. Just load it up, tack it on, let me sign, and boom... all done. I finally have a little money, so I just take the easy route now.
