******Update no Apple Car Play. Service advisor had no clue even though I explained everything to him. *****

I called my dealership/service(Right Toyota) dept yesterday to inquire about the Apple carplay update because when I bought my truck two weeks ago my sales person said it could be available soon. So I called yesterday and they made me an appt this morning to update it. I was surprised figuring I would get a no go. So I just dropped of my truck and confirmed everything with them. They told me it would take 2hours to get it done.

They also told my Brother to bring his Forerunner he bought 2 months ago in on Thursday for his update.

I'll be shocked if his truck comes back with CarPlay, but here's to hoping!

I hope this is true but I was told by both Toyota and my dealer there were zero plans to upgrade any Entune systems to include apple carplay. Here’s hoping they were wrong.

Entune 3.0 in older Camry (car engine) and Sienna (car engine) models has an update available that offers Car Play. So that isn't exactly true.

But we have the 2.0 in our Tacomas (car engine) and God only knows what the ancient system in the 4Runner (truck engine) is. From what has been reported, there is no CarPlay update available for the anything other than Entune 3.0.

I just bought my truck 2 weeks ago, he didn’t say they are charging for it.
No troll here. I’m just telling what they said. I won’t believe it either till I pick up my truck and see it.

My dealer is doing Fox suspension upgrades with last year's parts at no charge, but only on the Off-Road...guess I'll add this to the list, too.
