The big question is, will there be parts left over...?

With the Puddle lights shipping and many installs taking place, I wonder if anyone would care to part with the bottom cover you removed from the passenger side mirror to install the puddle lights. I had a goose fly up into my mirror a couple weeks ago. It cracked the top colored piece and popped out the bottom cover. I found the broken pieces of the the top cover, but not the black small cover on the bottom. The top cover is much easier/cheaper to replace than the whole mirror, if I could obtain a bottom cover. The rest of the mirror is fine.

I don't see why some people wouldn't be willing to part those pieces out. For everyone they are just going to sit in a box in the garage.

Could be some people may sell or return their truck in the future. More profit back in the pocket by installing the old hardware to stock and selling the good stuff. Sometimes its good to just hold on to the old hardware.

The real problem is shipping. Might be cheaper to buy new than ship a free one all the way to the Great White North.

Everyone knows we don't have geese that can fly in the US all the ones in the zoos have had their flight capabilities disabled at the ECU level. o_O

Note he said a GOOSE flew up. So first we know he has a heck of a lift on his truck for the goose to have to go UP to hit the mirror.

I dunno, sounds like a guy just lookin for free loot.:rofl::rofl::rofl:

All kidding aside @Blue16 , I hope Hope someone steps up to help you out. If I score a set on one of next releases, I would be happy to help you out. :hattip:

Very true, good point. I personally will probably hang on to mine but someone here would part out.

Sometimes when I have to grab something in the garage, I just hit unlock so the puddles light up the floor. Don’t even need to waste electricity:D

Around here geese are a menace at times, blocking roads walking around like they own the place, and they certainly do fly. This one was on the road and I was going past, when he decided to take off and fly right into my mirror, so it was "up" from the ground level.

Sure, I'm hoping that rather than pitch the $1.00 piece of plastic in the trash can, that someone might offer to put one in an envelope. Who said anything about free though? Those details would be between me and the person with the loot :) The reality is that Toyota doesn't sell this piece separate from the mirror, and that's all I need to repair mine... well that and the colored cover which I would order.

Don't even have to hit unlock if you get close enough. That's the coolest part!

Has anyone figured how to extend the range on when it will trigger? Is that something on the truck side or the smart key side? I pretty much have to be at my door for light to trigger.

I didn't even know that was possible. I must have missed that part. I'd like to know also. Yeah I have to be within just a few feet for it to trigger.

I would figure this is a safety feature to prevent people from being able to jump in your truck and turn it on before you can even get a chance to grab the door handle.

I recall that particular setting in the headunit - It was a choice between Driver's Seat or Inside Vehicle.

Yeah key would still have to be in the truck for it to start. Id think the door would still open. But it triggering 10 feet away vs 1 foot away I don't think would stop someone from robbing you if that was the plan lol.

I had duty this past weekend but was off yesterday. Got them installed in 3 hours total. +1 for tape on socket (do it all the time) and zip tie and lube to fish wire through boot. Also much easier to pull Meso wire from door side toward cab and take off boot from both sides, connector is much smaller. puddles.jpg
