some guys get worked up over here how people spend money. its like bro, I cant spend 6 hours installing this stuff and have it jerk to the right or left, be bouncy or feel off and have to get it under it again. I have kids, a job and other stuff to do. I can see the appeal of an off the shelf type of install with warranty and a place to complain.

if you have the snorkel tho i hope bad things happen to you

Hmmm... this looks to be confirmed by the Traxxas in your avatar. Losi is vastly superior.

What you failed to realize is the ONLY thing on this setup that would cause any issue with warranty is the $100, 1” spacers on the front of the truck. Your warrant is not going to be denied for adding a decal and changing out your wheels and tires. I would actually be interested to see what a dealership would charge for the add on’s separately. I have most of these “mods” on my truck and i’m at $1700 out of pocket with dealer install. They are just “pretty” mods. Short of the tires, the truck is not upgraded at all.

I will keep my thoughts on the pro to myself. There were 4 on the lot with a no reason $5k markup on the already $48,000 price tag. This was not meant to be a debate, I just found it interesting that people are willing to spend so much, when even a reputable aftermarket shop could do a correct lift on the front end and you would come out on top compared to this markup.

To the thousands of people viewing this thread:

Just a friendly reminder that a new V6 4x4 Tacoma can be had for less than $30,000. And a Utility package 2.7L 4x4 will be around $25,000. Lots of value to be found and you can mod it up from there for a very capable truck.

It is infuriating - its price gouging but its what the market will bear. And these 'aftermarket' dealer specialists always do cheap, shit spacer lifts.

You want a vehicle fresh from the OEM that’s been at the dealer for no more than a few days if possible

The issue is they're adding $6k to the price when they only added a spacer and grill. Maybe some badges. Probably $500 in mods. Crazy what people will pay just because it looks cool.

The gladiators are horrendously priced. Loaded, they push 70k and you still need to lift and run 37" tires due to their wheel base.

ARB Bumper, SOS sliders, rear bumper, and skid plate. OME Lift. Some other stuff.
Use to have a coworker that had a new BMW yet couldn't afford a washer and dryer.

    Priorities I guess.

I had no idea the Gladiators would be so popular. Everyone seems to be raving about them... Admittedly, I like them too. Probably the only domestic truck I would consider.

    all tore up already
You all think this is terrible, I saw a 63k MSRP on a jeep gladiator the other day... or double the MSRP of my trd sport. But I saw it leave with a temp tag that day so not too scary for everyone

People buy what they want when they want. Years ago I sold TVs and stereo equipment. It blew my mind that somebody making 35 a year would 15 on a tv and stereo but hey if the financing goes through they walked out with it. Cars and trucks are the same if they like it and the financing goes through the American public will buy anything.

Something is worth what we are willing to pay for it. I think 1st gen Tacomas are overpriced too. If we don't want to pay for overpriced items then we should stop paying those prices. Unfortunately that will never stop, someone out there will pay that price enough times that they will keep it at those prices until the market changes.

Not that I am a fan but when the Civic Hatch Type R release it was marked over $10k MSRP and people were still buying them. I thought the starting MSRP itself was too much to begin with.

Jeep Gladiator. I'm not brand loyal so I'll say it's a nice truck on paper and if it preforms well on the trails, great more power to it. MSRP starting at $33K-43K which is about the same starting price as a 3rd gen Tacoma. Is it comparable, I don't know. However seeing that it was just release I expect a lot of markup, supply and demand, and of course someone out there will pay for it.

We have to understand that not all of us make the same type of income. Some people make more, a lot more, money than others and can easily afford to buy certain things without much thought. It's like any "want" or hobby, we tend to spend more even if sometime it's not financially practical. So yea these truck prices are insane but then again I have a lot of expensive aftermarket parts on my truck that other people would think are insane prices.

I bought a 6 month old manual off road 4x4 at carmax in Dec for 30k, 11000 miles. Added an icon stage 9, ko2s on 18s, pulled all the bling. Out the door total 37k. 30k at 2.99%, rest cash.

51k for a stock taco? Nutz.

When money is no object who cares.
It also takes some imagination to build a truck and effort.
When you buy it off the lot like that it just looks like everyone else who bought theirs that way.
Maybe that is what they want. Its their dime.
I like seeing trucks that dare to be different. Those are the ones that stand out.
