Chestnut Mountain Road Runs

One for me. 10k, ~90 feet plus a tow strap, 3 snatch blocks, tree savers, and shackles.

Several straps, portable air, tree savers, snatch block, axe, 60ft synthetic rope.
Dis gon be good.

 

Sounds like this could turn into a fun time. I've got some traction boards, a strap, and a small air compressor

Everyone was wishing for rain...

 

I wonder if they will close the trail due to conditions? Is there a website or # for the welcome center there?

 

We need it bad. My yard went from lush, thick, vibrant green grass to dirt. I'm literally growing dirt right now.

 

I was wondering about this also. The park number is 828-966-9099.

 

I've been out there in the rain before, but considering the landslide, I dunno, they might. But yeah, the number @truckbeans posted is the one to call to find out.

 

The landslides happened in the toxaway game lands. The park dosent know what they do. It will be open though, Because of the easement the road has to stay open for South Carolina access. South Carolina can close its gate but north Carolina has to allow south Carolina residence to access. Basically the only reason chestnut mountain road is open to the public.

 

Only some very light rain here and I'm about an hour south of sapphire as the crow flies.
I'm still in until someone backs out.
I really think we need a minimum of 4 trucks in case the shtf while where there for recovery options.
