Ideas for a Bear Box Smoker?

Check it out. Bear Box procured from the side of the road in South Lake Tahoe.

Going to Burn it in, then power wash it and build.

    It's 36 wide/36 deep and about 43 inches tall.

Thinking building some shelves inside and making the door a french door scenario with baskets below etc.

Thoughts on helping design this thing so I can start smoking mid summer?

I currently have a similar set up I built but this one is going to the next level in size and food output.

    Any insight advice is appreciated...

Thanks for the Birthday wishes, was going to grill a steak and king crab legs tonight. Started on call for a week starting this morning. And work isn't shy about calling so that idea went out the window at least for tonight. But it will happen at some point soon.

Happy belated birthday to @Cold Iron ! Sorry I missed it. You share a birthday with my daughter. She wanted steaks for her 6th birthday dinner, so we got ribeyes that she helped cook. I must have stumbled across some effective parenting method for now. Looking forward to seeing your birthday spread when you get around to it ;).

Also, happy belated to @Kanyon71 ! Oof. Can't believe I missed that one, too! Spent all this time discussing whiskey glasses, that I forgot about the birthday. Hope it was a good one!

I love my Grill Grates and have them for the Genesis and Jumbo Joe. Have 3 22" Kettles but no grill grates for them, I have used the 18" Jumbo Joe ones before but it leaves a lot of real estate open so might as well use the JJ instead.

GG has a Fathers Day sale %15 off with GRATEDAD code at check out. Just took care of the kettles...

Just threw on 10lbs of walkers. It’s hard to pass up on them at .66 cents a piece, plus they don’t suck! Three on the left are lemon-pepper (per the boss’s request) the rest are my go to home brew rub of RWB pepper and garlic salt in equal amounts. More to follow.

It was good. Took my daughter for a photo shoot for dance, her recital was on Friday. After that had some lunch and vegged for a while. Then we to a Japanese steakhouse with family and ate too much. Crashed after midnight and slept well. Wife and daughter got me an Apple Watch which I’ve been wanting but am too cheap to buy for myself. :)

All in all a great day.

    3 hours smoke
    2 hours wrapped in smoker
    1 hour unwrapped in smoker
You need to play with the times for how you want the meat.

2 hours wrapped while still in the smoker?
1 hour rest? Or 1 hour unwrapped still in the smoker?
